Mangaluru, Jun 14: An unidentified man had hatched a plan to eliminate rationalist Professor Narendra Nayak, a year after the sensational murder of Gauri Lankesh took place.
The incident has come to light very late. The suspicious movements of a man trying to enter the residence of Narendra Nayak was caught by a CCTV camera installed nearby.
The incident occurred at Ladyhill in the city where the man is seen enquiring about Nayak with a security guard at the flat in which the latter was staying.
The security guard grew suspicious when the man asked the whereabouts of Prof Nayak. The man man is then seen escaping from the spot in no time before the security guard could act.
Speaking to daijiworld.com, Narendra Nayak said, “I am at the forefront demanding justice for slain RTI activist Vinayak Baliga. I am also fighting human rights violation cases and other illegal activities in the city. There are many outfits that are waiting to eliminate rationalists. Following threats, I have written to city police and the state government.
“I do not know who sent that person to enquire about me. It is the duty of the police to investigate further,” he said.
