Bengaluru: South interior Karnataka to get rainfall till May 21

Bengaluru, May 17: Pre-monsoon rains continue to occur in the state due to surface wind. The meteorological department expects districts of Karnataka located in southern interior region to receive heavy rainfall on May 17, 20 and 21.

Although the month of May is known in Karnataka for hot days, this time it rained most of the days of this month. The meteorological department has said that rain coupled with strong wind will lash south interior districts of Karnataka till May 21.

Rainfall is expected in Chikkamgaluru, Kodagu, Shivamogga and coastal districts forming south interior Karnataka on May 17. Chamarajanagara, Bengaluru city and rural, Mandya, Mysuru, and Ramanagara districts are likely to get heavy rainfall on May 20 and 21, the department has predicted.

Fishermen have been advised against venturing into sea as low pressure area has been created in the southwestern direction of Arabian Sea.

Places like Bailahongala and Kittur in Belagavi district got rain on Wednesday evening.
