Bengaluru: MEP defeated candidates file complaints against party president

Bengaluru, May 17: A criminal complaint stands registered against Nowhera Shaik, president of All lndia Mahila Empowerment Party (MEP) in Jeevanbima Nagar police station here.

The complainant has said that Shaik not only collected money from party candidates but also obtained blank cheques from them in the name of party fund. Candidates of the party from Shivamogga and Davanagere districts have filed this complaint.

Kalavathi, who fought the election from Sagar constituency in Shivamogga district on party ticket said that Nowhera had promised to meet her entire election expenses out of party fund. "She collected five lac rupees from me. I borrowed Rs 23 lac and campaigned during the election. But the party president has not refunded the election expenses as promised. Now she is not even returning the blank cheque obtained from me," she stated.

    Her job is over, she succeeded in dividing congress votes and helping BJP to win. She got money from BJP as well as from the candidates.
    In some constitiuency congress lost by less than 1000 votes and your party got similar number of votes.
    She may be enjoying her vacation in a foreign country.
