While the defeat of the Congress was largely expected due to incumbency, I am stunned at the margin of defeats! This demonstrates the extent to which the once progressive Mangalorean society has been polarized. People have largely chosen to ignore the development works done by the outgoing MLAs and have voted on religious lines. This does not bode well for our society. I hope the representatives now shift the focus from polarization to development to usher in the elisive "Acche Din"

Sir, Intelligence with common sense is useless. Mangalorean voted for one of the candidate who is absconded after RTI activist murder and Udupi voted for their candidate whose own wife was mysteriously died and he himself appeared in sex CD sleaze.

So both the districts need smart people to lead smart city. But they proved 'development' is secondary and Hinduatava first.

What could have caused Madhwaraj and Sorake to lose? i mean i dont think there was any scandal(apart from the rumoured bank loan which all businessmen have), was there? Please reply to the point without making cheeky jokes or invoking past Prime Ministers (dead ones). I would really like to know cos I think and hear they've done good work on the ground?

As you have mentioned Mr. Pramod has done fantastic job as MLA. He is also one of the Good natured, and a man with high character. Sorake also did some works in kaup but compared to Lalaji Mendon, Sorake's works are marginal. However, both candidates were paid the price for being in a wrong party which does the appeasement politics. If Pramod contested as BJP candidate, his winning margin would have been the biggest in the state. Both constituencies have strong presence of Mogaveera and Billava community and both these communities are with BJP this time. I wish Pramod would have been a BJP candidate.......

BJP for develoment .... Congress is loosing every State in India in elections and finally they will be eliminated from this land permanently... I mean, people will opt for development. They respect those parties which are free from bribe, give good governance and law and order with secured borders. Those days of fooling people are gone... BADAVARA paksha ... Badavara Udhara, Hindulidava and Caste based politics will be eliminated.... So that like developed countries we should have only Two major parties with common goal to develop our country. Contry should be first then comes the Religion and your Caste....
Be a Gentleman and dont beg for any subsidy from Govt.... That should be our Attitude.... Learn, Educate, be a Professional in any field and master it and finally Serve our country as a citizen... Congress could also aim for such Development concepts instead of playing dirty games ..

    People,

CONgress got what it deserved...I have seen CONgress ups and downs from 1980 closely...I have seen a really good social worker like Oscar slowly becoming a stooge of ruling party(Pudari) and good for nothing political leader...

Now for those who won...Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely...Its very difficult to remain as good person after getting power...it goes to your head slowly and makes you do things which you would never do without power...

These Horses slowly but steadily will become donkeys as time passes...trust me..its very sad to watch...
