Kundapur: Fatal fall from bus accounts for a life at Kumbhashi

Kundapur, May 15: In an accident which happened on national highway 66 near Sangam Vidyakendra cross near Kumbhashi in the taluk on the evening of Monday May 14, a man fell from the bus when alighting a bus and lost his life.

The victim of this accident was Govinda (60) from Kumbhashi.

The bus in question was moving towards Kota from the town. The bus had been halted near Sangam Vidyakendra cross to facilitate passengers to get down. It is said that one of the passengers, Govinda, was getting down from the bus from the front door when the driver moved the bus ahead before the conductor signalled him to do so. Govinda, as such, stumbled and fell to the road. He was crushed under the rear wheels of the bus. On account of serious injuries he suffered in this accident, Govinda breathed his last instantly.

A case relating to this accident was registered in the traffic police station here. The driver of the bus has been taken into custody and investigation is progressing.
