BJP forming government in Karnataka: Amit Shah

Bengaluru, May 13 (PTI): BJP president Amit Shah today asserted the party would form the next government in Karnataka, a day after the polling for high-stake assembly polls in the southern state indicated a tight contest between the saffron party and the Congress.

Most of the post-poll surveys have predicted the BJP to emerge as the single largest party in Karnataka, with the JD(S) of former prime minister H D Devegowda likely to emerge as the kingmaker.

"The BJP will form the government in Karnataka on May 15 evening after the results," Shah said while addressing a gathering of around 15,000 BJP workers at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium near Panaji.

Polling was held yesterday in 222 constituencies in Karnataka, currently ruled by the Congress.

Any party or alliance will need the support of 112 MLAs to form the new government.

Amit Shah and Narendra Modi are articulate orators and unfortunately most of the voters are mesmerized by the hog wash. They both lie through their teeth and speak of flaws of the Congress in the last 70 years. Agree they have been corrupt and looted too, but they maintained a nominal growth rate over the last decade, kept energy prices under control, even when the international prices hit the roof in 2008, and covered lost ground after the financial melt down. Wheras BJP plundered the economy with demonetization, a good move without proper implementation. Today's youth in the metros are unemployed, commodities have become expensive, fuel prices are hitting through the roof, the exchange rate is Rs. 67 to the $ and has reached Modi's age and these two guys are not speaking on real issues. BJP propaganda cell shows bloopers of Rahul Gandhi, but very well ignore it of the P.M. Modi. If one sees records of his speeches, there is a lot of crap in it, but he is mostly speaking to the uneducated (Not saying illiterate) who are unaware of the truth. Today after a hiatus of almost 20 days before the Karnataka Elections, fuel prices have increased. Mr. Modi show the country an audited report card on your achievements in the last 48 months. If not achievements, at least a start. The country doesn't want the announcements through your favorite pet Arnab Goswami., give an interview to an unbiased news channel. Seems like we have PM Maun Modi.

Inspite of good governance given by Siddu were by and large people lived in peace and harmony barring a few stray incidents and definitely better much much better than previous BJP government and better than all BJP governed states in India and every other state , if still people vote for BJP whose CM face and President are former jail birds and by their speeches and action still seem and unreformed and performance of Center is well know highest petrol price , low growth rate of 5% and polarization of society . There seems to be something seriously wrong with the society . Hope it isn't BJP this time

The EVM's which were shifted from U.P gives so much confidence to both Jailbirds Mr. YEDDIYURAPPA & Mr. AMITH SHAH(DAAKHU) before the actual counting begins or Adani, Ambani & Nirav Modi and latest from Bellary Reddy brothers spinning money bags speaks so much.

Is this the India we wanted?
If that is the case all political parties must ensure linking compulsory the Election Identity Card to Aadhar Card and not EVM's only the Ballot Paper voting before 2019 General Election.
They managed RBI and later Supreme Court....so all opposition parties must start their fight with "The great Indian FEKHU & DAAKHU" now onwards because see the kind of darung these Jailbirds have.

We feel for the poor who may miss this 'Indira Canteen' , 'Anna bhagya' welfares being discontinued.

We have to be human first to understand the pain. Political choice is secondary.

Even before the election date announced BJP's party president Amit Shah in Nagpur headquarter of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh office assured loyalist within the Sangh and BJP attended the meeting of BJP's clear victory in Karnataka.

This is the reason Prime Modi in Bijapur election rally predicted Congress will blame for EVM for BJP's victory.
Now former CM Yeddyurappa already predicting 120 seats even before the seals of the EVM is broken and confidence of Amit Shah only proves that EVM's in Karnataka is rigged for BJP's victory.

There is already list circulating in social media which constituency is BJP is going to win in this assembly elections confirms that results are rigged for BJP mass victory.

Sir, Elections to Karnataka assembly is held only for 222 out of 224 seats. But your list which even I got someone from BJP announced result for 224 seats.
Please ask your loyalist to correct this immediately. This many seats will make even Donald Trump America suspicious about BJP winning elections in India.
There is still one more day BJP IT cell can do miracle changing the fortune sealed in EVM for BJP.

For the information of those who comment against EVM
As per law if you have doubt about EVM you can protest at the voting booth itself if you feel you voted for Congress and Vote has gone to BJP .Then your vote will be verified immediately as we have VVPAT.You can get a print out also
And you will be given a second chance also .But if you are proven wrong then there will be 6 months jail for you for falsely accusing the EVM
For the mass verification randam votes from every booth from Every assembly segments will be verified through print out to cross check

Doc, remember Feku's oft repeated line? Congrace (that's how he pronounces) technology ka khilaaf hai, EVM ka khilaaf hai' . Now, the counties like US and UK which are decades ahead of us in technology have not gone EVM. Why? Because they know very well that if the things can be tampered, they will be tampered. Looks like jab tak India mein EVM hai, tab tak we'll have to put up with Fekuraj.

    One fellow writes
My father is a Government officer in Uttar Pradesh, thus he has to be involved in this whole process of conducting elections. This goes before the allegation of Sushri Mayawati ji, we were just chatting and being extremely curious about the election process, i asked him how is vote being counted and isn’t it possible to hack it ( we have genius hackers) He then told me it is not possible to do that. He added that there are two units, one which was pressed by you while voting and the other is the one which record your vote. The machine in which you vote is of no use after the voting where as other machine is kept safely in government strong rooms, even many political parties send their representative to keep a check on them. ( Just google AAP volunteers in Punjab guarding EVM’s). On result date, the 2nd unit( in which the vote was recorded) is bought from Strong Rooms, seal is broken in front of contestants. Contestants and their representatives are only allowed inside the premises. Thus during the whole process it is no where possible to interfere with the recording.
Why Did we move to EVM from Ballot Papers?
As someone rightly pointed above too, its India. We have huge no. of voters, huge no. of participation( some times more than 20 participants fight from one singular constituency)
It was very vulnerable, in Ballot Papers voters are just suppose to mark on their fav candidate. Some times it too confusing on whose name they marked.
For many votes, there were fights as they were not clearly marked.
There were cases when ink was spilled which lead to vote not being counted.
IT WASTED PAPER IN HUGE QUANTITIES
Election officers could also do some tactic like spilling ink which would lead to negation of that vote.
It would some time take days to calculate the results, thus making the whole task gruesome for everyone involved.
I hope this helps, elections were not rigged. The party which received maximum support, won it
    countries like Australia have

Digital security is the most insecure thing in the world. Organizations like NASA and Google have already migrated from digital to Quantum computing.
As for wastage of paper for paper ballot, do you have any idea how many thousands of tonnes of paper was wasted in the century's biggest blunder Demonetization?
And unwittingly you have quoted Auzie's example for EVM, same Auzies who were in the news for cricket ball TAMPERING of late?

country like USA is 3 times the size of India. yet the population is 1/5th of India. physical counting is much easy there but not in India. In india we breed like rabbits therefore physical counting will be a pain. lot of human errors recounting etc will drain our resources and time.

Even though there is VVPAT and displays the party we voted, EVMs can still be programmed OR connected to WIFI to deposit the vote to BJP.s account. Only software programmers know this.

    Mr. AA,
If I were you, I would have waited till 15th to come to conclusion. In defense of EVMs, they showed clearly, the candidate I voted. If you have issues with EVMs please file a police complaint. Apparently, you will be arrested with 6 month detention if you cry "wolf wolf wolf" and even Supreme court will not provide relief for false accusation. Do you want to take the freedom of speech angle and that too with Supreme Court?
