Mangaluru: Immoral rowdism at Pilikula, Hindu activists beat up youth on picnic

Mangaluru, Jan 2: Immoral rowdism, also widely known as moral policing, has raised its head at picnic spot at a well-known water park at Pilikula in city. Activists of a Hindu organization unexpectedly thrashed young boys and girls who were enjoying their picnic here on Tuesday, January 2.

The boys and girls attacked are the students of Pompei PU College in Talipady, Aikala. They belonged to three different religious. They had come on a picnic at Pilikula.



The boys and girls were rounded by Hindu activists and beaten up. Police who arrived at the spot rescued the students. They dispersed those who were creating trouble and took the young boys and girls in their custody.

It is said that the activists continued to assault the college students even in the presence of police. A girl was also seen being slapped by a man in front of a policeman.

    Sad to see people being killed in Surathkal , citizens being misused by groups in the name of religion and culture.
    Mangalore was a peaceful place and now turned into a lawless place. in the pilikula video, the uneducated rowdy is hitting the girl and the cop dosent do anything... what can we expect now in Mangalore ??

    We are simply mixing religion here. It is not about which religion they belong to. It is about who has given him the authority to touch a women??? If he is condemning the other two girls for roaming with boys, then atleast he should behave like a man and not touch a girl.
    Why do we have to invade anyone's personal space? We need to first have humanity and learn basic moral values. This is not religious matter, this is a matter of how an individual can come and hit a girl in front of the police? Humanity is first and then comes religion.

    If picnic of these student's to Pilikula was informed to their parents / teachers, then I condemn act of the activists. If these students bunked classes and did not inform parents & teachers about their pilikula picnic, then I support the act of activists.
    Hoovu mullige tagidaru, mullu hoovige tagidaru pettaguvudu hoovige. I believe, most of parents of Girl child do not accept any misuse of their daughters.

    It's truly inspiring to see many Mangalorean folk stand up to these rowdies who terrorise people who are having fun innocently.

    It seems like these days Hindutva outfits have nothing else to do other than poke their noses into other people's private lives. Maybe if there were more jobs then these people wouldn't be involved in this nonsense. Govt failure? Maybe.

    But on a serious note, who do these people think they are? If a girl and a guy from different religions are hanging out together, what problem to these guys have?

    Modi proudly boasted about how his party has empowered Muslim women while his own chamchas assault women of the same religion. Shame.

    These people do not understand democracy. They have openly said that they want to change the constitution. How did these people come into power? By taking advantage of the backward mindsets of our people.

    These days we are forced to chant "Vande Mataram" and "Bharath Mata Ki Jai". to show patriotism. This is not called patriotism. It's called jingoism. It's a tactic being used to hide the failures of the government in terms of economy, corruption, law and order and what not.

    Anyone who dares speak against the BJP is branded as anti-Hindu. Why? Did BJP invent Hinduism? No, they merely adopted it and are hiding behind a truly honourable and peaceful religion.

    Anti-national (See Kanaiya, Amir and Shah Rukh Khan) even Narayan Murthy was not spared) is another term they use to shut up rationalists and free thinkers. Which is followed by threats. Or otherwise... (See Gauri Lankesh, Kalburgi etc)

    These people are ruining our country and the BJP is allowing them to.

    Mangaloreans (Hindus and Muslims and Christians and Sikhs and Buddhists and Atheists and any other religion that may be out there), the only solution to defeat these guys is to be united.
