Safaz had visited the family of a relative living at Maindaguri, Kulai, on Sunday. He was returning to Vidyanagar in his two-wheeler when two strangers, who were moving on this route, stopped him and sought to know his name. After he told them his name, they stabbed him with a knife and then escaped from the scene, it is learnt.
