Modi speaks about Jesus Christ's commitment to service

New Delhi, Dec 31 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that "service to people" was the biggest identity of humankind and also a part of India's culture.

"On December 25, Christmas was celebrated across the world. It was also celebrated in India. On this day we remember the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ, and the thing we remember the most was his teachings on service," Modi said in 2017's last edition of his radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat'.

He also said that we see emphasis on service in the Bible.

"The son of man has come, not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life, as blessing to all humankind," Modi said talking about Christ's commitment to service.

"Serving people is the biggest identity of humankind."

First tell your chelas not to spoil communal harmony in the society. Many BJP leaders are creating rift among communities. Some parts of India people are threatened if they celebrate christmas. PM is blind on all these happenings. PM should try to ask his followers to treat all as one then only his speeches will be meaningful.

“For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same.” -13:3 Paul

for it [rulers] is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.” -13:4 Paul
Jesus Christ(Blessing upon him) is revered by Christians, Muslims and Jews from the book of havens equally respected.
When it comes to practice and preaching, PM Modi should know what was been thought in the Holy Bible towards its citizens as commitment to deliver his service to the nation.
It unfortunate that 2017 is one of the worst year of ruling of PM Modi when comes to delivery of service and promises to the nation.
It should be noted that the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI), the top decision making body of the Catholic Church in India, has said the community is losing confidence in the government, especially after the recent Satna attack incident.
“I want my country to be united in a secular fabric. But now, this country is being polarised due to religious affiliations. We should fight against it,” the Cardinal Baselios Cleemis, president of the CBCI.
It should also noted that Odisha , Chhattisgarh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh still remain to be worst for the community under BJP ruling. In North Eastern state which remain peaceful all these decades has seen increasing level of tribal who are divided for the political ambitions of BJP.
Commitment to service to the nation does not come with 'word' but 'actions'. It is time to walk the talk.

Shetty: living in 21st century and talking rubbish, Christian follow Jesus teaching and no one is converted it's your myth embossed in your head, I don't think anyone religion is so weak that they can easily get converted. And for your kind information Christians population which is used to be 2.7 percent has shrunk to 2.3 percent this is government released data so where is conversation to Christianity, it should be other way round,

Haha....Europe, Americas, Africa, Australia , Philippines.....etc, all these were never converted. They are all following their own indigenous beliefs.....

    Goan inquest never happened.

Vascodagama lands in Kochi & today 50% are converted. Must be some strange co-incidence.

2.7 to 2.3 is proportional to the overall jump from 80 crores to 125 crores.

A true believer in Christ will always hold the hand of the needy.

Shetty you're are still in stone age, or have you in 21st century, pity your knowledge conversation happened 600 yrs. back by the European countries at that time no Indians had ever gone to Europe, it's only after foreigners started school and people got educated they could travel to Europe for further studies and better jobs and better living conditions, and the Indians going to Europe are not only Christian but 90percent are Hindus , hence untill your mentality doesn't change you will be still living in stone age, best of luck to you hope 2018 you may get some enlightenment.

Shetty..why you are worried if people convert to christianity? What good you do to your hindu brothers? Do dalit hindus have any status in the society? First try to look for reasons why hindus convert. And don't tell me that hindus are being forcefully converted. If it's done, then in India, there would have been no hindus by now. Do you guys want dalit or billawa guy to come up? If yes, then Janardhana Poojary would not have lost elections and you guys would not have selected such an idiot Nalin Kumar. Nalin Kumar was made to win just because he is a bunt and it's a shame that honest leader like Janardhana Poojary has to lose and sit at home.

    God bless.
We are taught to grant forgiveness, in order to be granted forgiveness.
    Forgiveness is basis of Christianity.
Whoever repents and seeks forgiveness, we are taught to forgive; how many times? 7 times? when asked, Lord Jesus said, not 7 times, 70 times 7
