Mangaluru: Let us prepare to tackle hatred in New Year

By Valerian Alva

Mangaluru, Dec 31: New Year Another great year – 2017 is coming to an end. While some look back and celebrate achievements, milestones and happiness some remember the loved ones they have lost this year.

A new year is usually begins with new resolutions. However, many a time these resolutions are easily broken and forgotten.

Jealousy still dwells in our hearts. Ego and pride leads us. Hatred is common, be it political, religious or personal. With the advancement of social media, it is so easy to express hatred without bothering about another’s feelings.

We need to prepare to tackle this hatred. It is very important to handle technology responsibly.

Mobile phones have become another organ of our body, which makes us function against our biological clock. Instead of being active, we waste hours engrossed in our phones. It is time we wake up.

Let us use technology to connect than disconnect from our surroundings. Instead of blindly sharing messages, let us analyse them. Instead of hoarding another’s inbox with good morning messages, let us make an effort to type a message and understand the person’s well being.

Let us give up sedentary lifestyle and processed foods. Let us welcome 2018 with a resolution to embrace healthy life style and better personal relationships.
