Bantwal: Stones pelted at Veerakamba mosque - none hurt

Bantwal, Dec 29: Even as police have intensified investigation into stabbing incident which happened at Kalladka on Monday night, unknown miscreants pelted some stones at a mosque at Veerakamba near here.

People who came to the mosque for offering namaz on Thursday December 28 morning saw that a few stones had been hurled at the mosque and four glass windows of the building had been damaged. After the locals gave a complaint, Vittal police registered a case about this incident.

Vittal station house officer, Nagaraj, said that a few have been questioned relating to this incident.

Messages which got shared on social websites had given indication that condemning the Kalladka incident, a protest would be held at 6 pm on Thursday at Mani. Vittal police had got three contingents of Karnataka State Reserve Police stationed at Mani to face any eventuality. But the protest did not materialize, it is learnt.
