Puttur, Dec 5: Vishwanath Poojary (38), son of the late Babu Poojary from Perabe, Adekkal, died after accidentally falling into drain at Bolame in Hirebandady village. His body was found on Monday December 4.
Poojary had left his home on Saturday night for attending the Nemotsava of Daivas at Bolame. Several had seen him at the venue of this Nemotsava. Thereafter he was neither seen nor could be contacted. As he did not come back even on Sunday, the family members went searching for him but failed to trace him. On Monday, the search was continued, and the mortal remains of Poojary were found lying in the roadside drain at Bolame.
It is believed that he would have been sitting on the platform attached to the drain on Saturday night and fallen into the drain after accidentally losing balance.
A case relating to this incident was registered in Uppinangady police station.
