Bengaluru, Dec 5: Former advocate general of Karnataka and senior advocate, Dr B V Acharya, finds a place in the list of top ten lawyers from the country. This list has been prepared by the Bar Council of India.
The council had introduced the practice of announcing ten best lawyers from the country on Advocates Day, which falls on December 3, since last year. The council had come into being on this day. The lawyers who find their names in this list, get felicitated.
B V Acharya, who hails from Udupi, is in this list this year. Interestingly, he is the only one from South India to make the grade. Acharya was felicitated on the occasion of the annual day celebrations of the Bar Council of India at New Delhi on Sunday December 3, by retired Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, Justice A P Shah, senior advocate, Fali S Nariman, and attorney general, K K Venugopal.
