Top Congress leaders to meet to anoint Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Dec 4 (DHNS): Top Congress leaders will gather at the AICC headquarters on Monday to propose Rahul Gandhi's candidature for the post of party president, a key step in effecting a generational change in the 132-year-old organisation.

Leaders of the Congress Working Committee; Chief Ministers Siddaramaiah (Karnataka), Amarinder Singh (Punjab), V Narayanasamy (Puducherry); and presidents of the state units, among others, will submit nomination forms on behalf of 47-year-old Rahul, who is expected to be formally declared elected on December 11, if there is no challenger.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi has held the post for 19 years, the longest tenure for any leader at the helm of the party. She has been ill, and the change of guard is expected to help make the organisation more nimble-footed and energetic.

The notification for the party presidential election was issued on Friday, and nominations close at 3 pm on Monday.

Mother & Son will never learn from their mistakes.
Their only interest is to achieve family name & fame
Ruling the country is secondary or else they would have made a better choice than handing over the crown to the heirs.
New politicial party should emerge to counter both Bjp & Congress.

Why there is so much of a hue and cry when the legal heir of the family property, the congress is already decided by Sonia and all are forced to approve to anoint the crown to the heir. Well, it shows that, to become a president of congress party, along with gandhi tag, one should continuously underperform and keep losing election after election.

I am surprised to know how ppl can save it is 132 years old ?
The original Congress has changed into national Congress during election in 1952
After that the Congress has split many times with different symbols
The present Congress is originally called Indira Congress
So it is not more than 40 years
