Udupi: Hit by car on highway, senior citizen loses life

Udupi, Dec 3: A 70-year-old man who was crossing highway 66 at Muloor in the taluk, died after a car knocked him down. The accident happened on the evening of Friday December 1.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Ali (70). Ali was crossing the road when a car that was moving towards Bhatkal from Mangaluru hit him. He sustained serious injuries in the accident. Although he was admitted into a private hospital in the town, he succumbed to his injuries on Friday night.

Mohammed Ali was from Mumbai. He had come to Muloor to visit a relative. A case stands registered in this connection in Kaup police station and investigation has been undertaken.
