Mangaluru: Undertrial assaults policeman in bid to escape, caught by public

Mangaluru, Nov 8: An undertrial on Wednesday November 8 allegedly assaulted a policeman on duty in full public view. He was then caught with the help of the traffic police and the people.

The incident took place at near PVS circle.

Numan Punjalkatte, an undertrial facing charges in theft and ganja peddling cases, was brought to court for hearing. While being taken back to the jail, he tried to break free from the police and allegedly assaulted a policeman.

Even as he tried to escape, the public at the busy junction swung to action and with the help of traffic police, managed to catch hold of Numan.

Numan was then secured and taken to the jail.

    @Jossey S.Mumbai,instead of beating the man,better ask police why they didnt put him handcuffs ?.Only entering his jail premises or his room should be handcuffs removed.They were very linient with him.That he gave them back.Never believe these men.

    Unity is strength.It's a nice gesture by yhe public to help policeman.Let Police department reciprocate in the same way always as it's their primary duty not to harass who come to them for a dire need with helplessness & lost hope.Let's together make this world Better,not Bitter.

    In certain cases it is better to to take the Judge and Lawyes to the jail for hearing. As a precautions.

    IT MIGHT BE PREPLANNED ESCAPE MASTER PLAN DRAFTED BY POLICE AT THE BEHEST OF POLITICIANS. BUT DUE TO ALERT PUBLIC HE COULD NOT FLEE. NOW HE WILL BE SERVED POORI SHEERA IN JAIL. THE PUBLIC WHO HELPED THE POLICE WILL BE THE TARGETTED.
