Bantwal, Nov 8: Choas erupted near Brahmashree Narayana Guru Circle here on Wednesday November 8 after drivers of sand trucks staged a flash protest by parking their vehicles by the roadside.

The drivers of sand trucks had parked vehicles near the circle. The drivers resorted to flash strike, alleging that police have been registering cases unnecessarily against the drivers of sand trucks and sending them to jails for frivolous reasons.

After noticing that the truck drivers had parked their vehicles by the roadside and were preparing to hold protest, police personnel arrived there and asked the drivers to take away their vehicles.

When the drivers did not heed to their advice, the police were about to resort to caning, when the drivers scampered away with their vehicles, realizing the seriousness of the situation.

Police said that they register cases only against trucks in which sand is transported without backed by license and that so far no case has been registered against innocents.
