Jul 28:Hero MotoCorp will be discontinuing four of its models from the Indian market soon. Its very much imminent especially after the launch of its first self-developed motorcycle, the Splendor iSmart 110. The four models set for discontinuation includes the Passion XPro, Ignitor and Impulse bikes along with the Maestro scooter.
All the above four models are being manufactured with the powerplant of Honda supplied to Hero for which the company has to pay a royalty to Honda for every bike sold. This is the major reason for Hero to discontinue its models.
Here are other simple reasons for the bikes to get discontinued. Ignitor and Impulse generates low sales to Hero and it is rumored that an updated version of Impulse with a powerful motor is soon to be launched by the company. In case of Maestro, it has already been succeeded by the Maestro Edge and Duet scooters which might naturally lead to its removal. However, Hero has to find worthy replacement for passion XPro 110cc.
