Mumbai, Feb 25: Dharmastala Dharmadikari Veerendra Heggade on Sunday, February 25 inaugurated Devadiga Bhavan in Nerul, Navi Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that there is no greater joy than speaking Tulu and Kannada in Mumbai. The bonding between the two states is laudable, however the border issue is what needs attention and needs to be solved amicably, he said.

“Our culture forms a community and gives us identity,” he said, adding that all are indebted to the society and thus need to repay it in terms of doing good, social works and ensuring peoples welfare. The special souvenir to mark the occasion was also released by Heggade.

Chairman of Administrative Reforms Commission Veerappa Moily presided over the programme. Maharastra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh also took part in the event.

Hemavati Heggade was the guest of honour. Maharastra State Excise minister Ganesh Naik, CIDCO president Nakul Patil, MLA Jagannath K Shetty, Navi Mumbai City Corporation Mayor Manisha B and others were present on the occasion.

President of the Devadiga Sangha Mumbai Dharmapal U Devadiga welcome the gathering. The programme began with a colourful procession to the venue.
