Aamir’s character PK is actually inspired from a real life character Abraham Kovoor, who was an Indian professor and rationalist and got popular for protesting and exposing the so-called Indian and Sri Lankan god-men and paranormal phenomena.

Abraham, who was born in Kerala in 1889, moved to Sri Lanka after some time. There he taught people to think from a scientific point of view. He told them how these established god-men were actually spiritual frauds and also exposed the phenomena behind the magical appearance of ‘Holy Ash’. He had also written a book titled Begone Godmen and Gods.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, PK was released today and has been well received by the audience. The film stars Aamir Khan in the title role, with Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani, Saurabh Shukla, and Sanjay Dutt in supporting roles.
