Mangalore: Tulu film 'Rickshaw Driver' hits theatres across district

Mangalore, Sep 27: 'Rickshaw Driver' Tulu film, produced by Praveen Kumar Konchady under Sri Muthu Films banner was released in theatres across the district and Udupi on Friday September 27.  It is being shown in Central, Cinepolis, Big Cinemas in Mangalore, Udupi’s Alankar, Puttur’s Aruna and B C Road’s Nakshatra theatres.

Addressing news conference at Cinepolis theatre, producer Praveen Kumar Konchadi said that the movie depicts the life of a rickshaw driver and shows how he becomes a model for his town and society.

He said that besides comedy king Navin D Padil in a double role, the film is enacted by Arvind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Satish Bandale and others, and directed by H S Rajashekar.  "The songs in the movie have already become hits. The film is shown in a special way to maintain communal harmony," he said.

Director Rajashekar spoke and said that the film 'Oriyardori Asal' directed by him was well appreciated by the audience. 'Rickshaw Driver' is also produced with those hopes with unique style and story.  While discussions about superstitions have been going on in the government, the movie has also given a message against them, he said.

Actors Arvind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Karthik Banjan, actress Neha Saxena, music director Wahab Saleem Putur, Keshwava Suvarna and others were present.

Popular actor Avinash, Padmaja Rao of 'Mungaru Male' fame, Chitra Shenoy and Suresh Mangalore are in the main cast in the movie.  Kartik Banjan, Mumbai’s Telugu actress Sara Sharma and Neha Saxena have acted for the first time.  Navin D Padil, Arvind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Satish Bandale are the comedy kings.  Russian Belly dancer Jenni has danced in the movie.  Wahab Salim has written the script and has provided music in the film.  Kaurav Venkatesh is in fights, Madan Harini has provided choreography, Niranjan Babu and Vijay Crasta have shot the movie and Keshava Suvarna is the art director.

The film troupe has decided to donate 10% of the collection from the CD sales to the families of those who had died in Perne gas tragedy.
