Mangalore: J R Lobo humbles four-time MLA, N Yogish Bhat

Mangalore, May 8: Newcomer to politics, J R Lobo, has succeeded in annexing Mangalore (south) assembly constituency by defeating four- time MLA, former deputy speaker of the assembly, and former chairman of Karnataka State Small Scale Industries Development Corporation, N Yogish Bhat.

The revenge is sweet for the Congress, because the constituency, which was earlier held for consecutive terms by Blasius M D’Souza, was wrested by N Yogish Bhat in 1994, and who held on to it till now.

Addressing the media, a jubilant J R Lobo said that development of the constituency will be his priority. "In the last 20 years, this constituency has not developed as it should have. I will strive to develop it. This is for the first time that MLA seat here has gone to Congress, and I will do my best to live up to the expectations of the people."

J R Lobo, a KAS officer who had worked as the head quarters assistant to the then deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Bharat Lal Meena, commissioner of the local city corporation, and the deputy project director of KUDCEMP here, takes credit for making Pilikula Nisarga Dhama one of the tourist attractions of Dakshina Kannada by working as the director of Pilikula Nisarga Dhama Society for 18 years.

It is hoped that Lobo, with his rich administrative experience, will be able to put the development works in his constituency on fast pace and initiate steps to address the problems faced by the common people.

First of all,Congratulation sir, for your victory.

Remember sir, people have not elected you because you are from which party, people have elected you having the confidence that you will work for the betterment of our nation. Please do not disappoint us.

sir, I am a common man of this society where i was brought up with out any communal harmony. we were very safe. Thanks my brother and sister for we grew up in this Mangalore city with great love n peace.i still remember when we were small, when needed everyone is to help each other in all the festivals, janmashtami, chauthi, christmas, easter, eid..etc...
but what is going on today...
My brother and sisters are not safe in the same city. where is the law n order? who and where are the law makers? do we need to go to police officer, or a officer who has sold their soul to a corrupted ministers. Any illiterate person will come n attack our brothers n sisters as and where they like. no on will question them..attacks in the resort..in the buses..etc..
Why are we so helpless...why r we not bothered about others, why dont we have unity. why there is no awareness among us about right n wrong. are we so dependent on others to protect ourselves.

sir, please help us to keep our city clean form these anti-social activist.

hope u will do something best for the people of mangalore city...all the best sir.

    Congratulations Mr. J.R. Lobo Sir!

At last..... the Victory Over the "Truth" prevailed in Mangalore.

Your opponents have "Used"(Ha..ha..ha..)!!!,"Tried"!!! and "Tested"!!! by all "Dirty Means" to win the elections and tarnish your Image and Reputation & finish your political career!!!.

Invite Mr. Modi Saab to show him that we Mangaloreans are not fools and can't be fooled one more time after last assembly elections of 2008.

Your Government has to work hard now for the people who have reposed their faith in Congress and you must work hard to bring back the "Lost Glory" of Karnataka particularly at Bangalore ("Investors") and at Mangalore the sentiments of "Communal Harmony" in undivided Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.

We must forgive and forget (F&F) Mr. Narendra Modi for spewing "VENOM" and "HATRED" in South India.

Let your "Constituency be a "Role Model" for Karnataka and "In South India" in particular Sir.

Finally "We" pray to the Lord to give you "Strength and Wisdom" to take appropriate decisions over the evil spirits and keep you always smiling and in humble spirit. We are with you Sir.

Mr. Lobo & all Congress MLA winners - Congratulations.

We look forward to see honest work by the Congress now that the complete faith of the people has been bestowed on the party via a full majority:

    # Pls control the moral policing menace that has affected the people & image of DK.

    # Pls take decisions (and your stand with the Center Govt.) on mega projects by being sensitive to the wishes of the local people & the natural environment

    # Pls be honest to yourself & your motherland

If Congress governs badly in this term you will then not deserve to rule Karnataka ever in the future.

    Good luck & God bless.

Mangalore people were never communal. They gave a chance to BJP who instead gave poor governance and chated people in the name of religion and created so many issues by sowing seeds of communal disharmony. Christian and Hindu groups never had a fight before but in BJP's rule there was a clear hatred towards Christians. Now GOD has delivered the state and Mangalore from the evil people's hands...I want Congress to treat the people well and do development works from day one.

J.R.Lobo has won by slender margin. But it is a huge win as Mr. lobo had to over come malicious designs of his opponent.
People watch\see\listen and all the news are relayed in matter of minutes.
Voters watched\saw and heard how the earlier 4-time MLA panicked and employed devious ways to malign Mr. Lobo. They decided who is better and they gave mandate to Mr. Lobo.
What a sweet victory people of Mangalore (south) have given to Mr. Lobo.
Please accept it and keep your promises which you had promised before the election. They will love you for that and keep you with them for many years...
    Three cheers to peoples' power.

Congrats! Mr Lobo Sir, now the world knows that the people of Mangalore are best people to judge. Litreacy prevails in this Coastal region and the young generation are so well educated that they have discussed with the older generation, whom they need to vote.Let Modi , Sushma or Varun come . But the people of Mangalore have taught a good lesson to the BJP.I am happy that the money and time spent to go to Mangalore and vote was all worth it. We Mangloreans should be united irrespective of caste & religion.Sure, our new MLA MR Lobo will be working with good Governance for the people of Mangalore irrespective of caste & religion .All are equal to him.Lets hope for peace .God Bless you Mr Lobo Sir and wish you good luck.

JRL sir, hearty congratulation and God bless you. A small reminder . If we see, in the past, no major work was done by any of the Mangalore Congress MLA's, worth their salt. The MLA's chose to forget the people once they were elected and the city went into shambles. This very frustration had led people to ditch and elect BJP in the last four elections. This should not be the case with you sir. We people have made you the winner and now your duty to make the people winner. We specially the minorities have suffered enough during the misruling of BJP. Please give justice for our sufferings. and I am sure as an able administrator you do not need this. However still it is my heart's saying and I am sure you will live with it. This request of ours is not only with you but with all the Congress candidates. We have always identified congress as peoples party and please continue to live to the peoples expectations.

Likes of Krishna Palemar, Raghupathi Bhat and Dr. K. Prabhakar Bhat should take responsibility for BJP's defeat in the coastal districts. It is annoying to note that more notorious and corrupt candidates from all parties are winning elsewhere in Karnataka and some decent candidates (esp. from BJP in coastal districts)lost because of others faults.

    Congratulations J.R. Lobo sir.
It is a good lesson for all politicians that infighting for power and position will cost them heavily. When they are elected to govern, they should discharge their duties sincerely and honestly for the welfare of the people of the state instead of looking after their personal interests.

Congratulations Mr. JR Lobo. These results show that there are secular people in Mangalore. By luck BJP's communal politics worked once. Henceforth these kind of cheep politics will not work in Karnataka. Few guy's who were carried away in their professional life were with BJP and showed their real colour to Mangalore. Now it is the time to chase these moral policing guy's out of Mangalore and Karnataka itself.

Indeed people of karnataka voted for not just change but drastic change. Bjp bhadra kote chidra chidra. Congress gains numbers and bjp looses seats beyond expectations.litreally routed. More shocking is Palemars defeat and height of success to Halady srinivas shettys political carrier. Deffinitly defined the word " solilladha saradaara" of Kundapur.

Ultimately HSS will merge with the coming ruling party, which is Congress, in the best interests of his voters, and for a secure Coastal Karnataka.

All winning Congress candidates will face a tough time to carry on their election promises
