Mangalore, May 7: Counting of votes pertaining to Beltangady, Moodbidri, Mangalore city (south), Mangalore city (north), Mangalore, and Bantwal constituencies will be held since 8 am on Wednesday May 8 at Canara College in the city. Counting of votes pertaining to Puttur and Sullia constituencies will be held at Canara PU College.

Fourteen tables are being provided to every constituency, and each of the tables will have one supervisor, one counting assistant, a micro observer, and a D group employee. Apart from a total of 129 micro observers, 820 personnel will be involved with counting, tabulation, and other work.

Canara College, Mangalore

The counting will be held in 15 to 17 rounds. As counting for every round takes about ten minutes, the counting process relating to the electronic voting machines are expected to be concluded in about three hours.

Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, Harsh Gupta, giving details about the arrangements made for the counting of votes at a press conference held here on Monday May 6, expressed the hope that the results would be announced by 11.30 am.

He said that during the counting, one agent for each of the candidates can be present inside the counting centre, but they are barred from using mobile phones. The officials and agents have been asked to be present at the centres by 7.30 am.

T A Pai English Medium School, Udupi

At the same time, counting of votes in respect of five constituencies in Udupi district will be held at  T A Pai English Medium School, Kunjibettu.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Udupi SP M B Boralingaiah said that ballot boxes from five constituencies (Kaup, Karkala, Udupi, Kundapur and Byndoor) have been kept safely in T A Pai English Medium School.

A minimum of 40 security personnel including police and paramilitary will be deployed for security, he added.

    Dear Daiji:

Election is over peacefully. Now counting will begin tomorrow and each is dreaming about the result. But this time Congress will win with over 150 seats in Karnataka. The result will go above the predictions of the People. BJP is reaping its sin and will be flushed out for ever in Karnataka wait and see for few hours. Karnataka will be again a peaceful State of India. May God bless all the winners and the people of Karnataka.

The scene is not going to change even when congress comes to power because "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely". They will first try to loot what all is left behind and towards the end of their 5 yr term will wake up and may do some developmental work for the state so that they can continue looting for another 5 yrs. Best is to keep a track of the assets they have d this time and compare it with the declaration of assets 5yrs later.

They have showed how much professional they are recently in the coal gate. You are 100 % right Ismail Bhai. They are smart, more than looting they are smarter in covering up and managing the investigation bodies. BJP needs @least another 25 years to master this act. Currently they only proved that given a chance they can loot & eat better than congress, but failed in all ways to cover up the act what the congress has been doing last 6 decades. Poor Yeddi, tried to show off giving Mining investigation to Santhosh Hegde & it boomranged around him and whole Karnataka BJP. And look at the center, investigation bodies first submitt their report to the conserned minister, takes his addition, subtraction & NOC only then submit it to the court. That is their professionalisem & maturity level.

Next action should be verification of affidavits submitted by the candidates from major political parties ie,Congress,BJP,JDS for its correctness.Wrong submission of affidavits should be dealt with strictly as per law.
