Mangalore: Muthappa Rai's wife Rekha dies in Singapore

Mangalore, Apr 29: Rekha Rai (55), wife of Muthappa Rai, who happens to be the founder of ‘Jaya Karnataka’ organization, breathed her last on Sunday April 28 in a hospital in Singapore.

Rekha Rai, who was suffering from certain ailments, had been admitted into Mt Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore about two and half months back. After her condition worsened two days back, she was shifted to the intensive care unit of the hospital. She breathed her last at around 11.30 am.

Theirs was a love marriage. Rekha Rai is survived by two sons, Rakhi and Rikki, besides her husband. While the Rai’s elder son is running hotel business abroad, the second son is continuing with his education in a foreign  country.

Her body will be flown to Bangalore either on Monday or Tuesday, and the funeral is likely to be held in Madikeri, her native place, it is gathered.
