Ajman: GMC hosts healthy baby contest and exhibition

Ajman, Mar 19: The GMC annual healthy baby contest and exhibition 2013 was held by GMC Hospital, Ajman on March 15 at the Gulf Medical University. gmu_190313-1 to 26

It was held to raise community awareness of the importance of teaching children good health and nutrition habits at an early age.  Establishing proper habits starting in early childhood can lead to a healthy lifestyle. 

The contest also promoted health consciousness among mothers regarding different factors affecting health of children and how they could detect diseases in children at an early stage.

The selection of the ‘Healthy Baby’ was done according to the physical and mental growth, complete immunization, general appearance of the child and parent’s knowledge about childcare. 

The judges for the healthy baby contest were renowned pediatricians, apart from the experts at GMC Hospital. More than 165 babies, toddlers and infants participated in the Healthy Baby Contest.

Chief guest of the evening Sheikh Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, chairman of the Ruler’s Court, Ajman inaugurated the grand event. 

KE Faizal, president and CEO of KEF Co. LLC was among the eminent dignitaries who attended the GMC Annual Healthy Baby Contest and Exhibition.

The visiting dignitaries were received and accompanied for a tour of the contest and exhibition by Thumbay Moideen, founder president and board of governors of Thumbay Group, UAE.

The contest was open to all categories based on age :

1st category (3 months to 1 year)
2nd category (1 year to 2 years)
3rd category (2 years to 3 years)

The contest apart from the awards for the winners of all the three categories of healthy baby also had prizes for babies with best curly hair, sparkling eyes, sunshine smile, chubby cheeks.

In the 3 months- 1 year category Talia Alaa Al Sahn bagged the first prize followed by Kareem Mohd. Hisham and Eisha Kashif as second and third prize winners.

Khalfan Abul Suboor won the Sunshine Smile award, Karman Kaur for best curly hair, Asya Garg for chubby cheeks and Onnia Mohd Sadek for the best sparkling eyes respectively.

In the 1 – 2 years category Dimah Mohd bagged the first prize followed by Aarushi Arun Elengical and Vivaan Dhaval Shah as second and third prize winners.

Aaron Vilayel Luke won the best sunshine smile award,Shivduth Ashith won the best curly hair award, while Kheylan Pazyeclec and Yhnika Brianna B Yillano won the prizes for chubby cheeks and sparkling eyes respectively.

And in the 2 year- 3years category Aisha Eshal won the first prize while Gaurika Kulbushan and Nour Al Charif won the second and third prizes respectively.

Ethan Thomas Nepomuceno was awarded the prize for the sunshine smile, R Shruthi for curly hair, Hafsa Ali for Chubby Cheeks and Master Fawaz Mohd for the  Sparkling Eyes.

Sheikh Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi along with KE Faizal gave away the prizes to all the winners of the competition.

Face painting, clown balloon folding, dual image show, games and entertainment,  laughter show, juggler, stilt walker, carnival, quiz, gifts and samples were some of the exciting events that were conducted during the healthy baby contest.
