Kundapur: Foundation Stone Laid for New Church of St Francis Assisi at Tallur

Kundapur, Oct 21: The foundation stone laying ceremony for the new church of St Francis Assisi at Tallur, here, was held on Saturday October 20.

Dr Gerald Lobo, the first Bishop of Udupi Diocese laid the foundation stone. Priest and Parishioners of Tallur Church welcomed the Bishop.

Dr Gerald Lobo offered sermon mass and sought blessings of the Almighty.

Kundapur Deanery Vicar var Fr Anil D’Souza, parish priest Fr Sunil Vegas, parish council president Arun Mendonca, secretary Stany Dsilva were present.

Tallur Church was established in the year 1934. The Church is 79 years old.

Tallur Parish consists of 210 families. Sandeep Almeida is the engineer and contractor of the new church building. The budget for the new Church is estimated to be Rs 2 cr.

    New Church is being built at Tallur.Thouth we based in Mumbai we do visit Tallur very often. I pray for the success of the ambitious project. Let us all pray to St Francis Assisi the Patron Saint to lead us and guide us in all respect.
