Bahrain, Sep 23:
Konkani Kutam Bahrain celebrated Nativity Feast jointly with Karnataka Social Club on September 21st at Karnataka Social Club premises.

It was a double treat for the Mangalorean Konkani community where the feast was celebrated along with the much awaited GVOM-3 semifinals.

The evening program started in the packed hall of KSC with Well Known Compeer and Toastmaster Ronald Olivera welcoming the gathering.



























































































In his opening address Richard Moras, convener of Konkani Kutam wished the gathering a happy nativity feast. He also encouraged the participants of the GVOM to put their best performances.

President of Karnataka Social Club Maxim Sequiera also addressed the gathering.
The six contestants in the Female category- Melba Martis, Laveena Dantis, Teena Roshan D’souza, Shanthi Noronha, Susan Monica Miranda and Sushma D’souza enthralled the audience with their melodies voice and  some fantastic performances.

This followed by the Male category contest with Sydney Correa, Ronald Fernandis, Anil Loy Barboza,Winston Preetham Aranha ,Christopher Lobo and Francis Lobo singing some of the top numbers from Konkani composers and singers like Wilfy Remimbus, Melwin Peris, Mick Max etc mesmerized the crowd.

It was Tina D souza who walked away with award for the female category for her scintillating performance with the song ‘Ahimsa’ composed my Melvyn Peris.

Sydney Correa’s super performance with ‘ chandrak pavoytalom’ the famous track of Melvyn Peris  fetched him the top spot and award in the male category.
Both Sydney and Tina will be travelling to Doha to compete in the Finale on 19th October 2012.

Ronald Olivera kept the audiences entertained with his witty questions to the contestants and compeered the whole event beautifully.

The whole competition was judged by some of the Top personalities in the music field.
The panel of judges consisted of the celebrated and award winning singer Rony D Cunha, Swebert Mascarenhas , top Musician of ‘Aryan Fame” and “ Renegade” bands,  Sonia Prabhu – Founder  of “ Symphony” School of Music.

The winners were awarded with trophies by the top dignitaries present.

Philanthropist Ronald Colaco was remembered at this occasion for his continued support for the Konkani culture and activities.

Monthi fest celebrations started immediately after the award Function.

The celebrations started with children colorfully dressed to honour Mother Mary came in procession before the gracefully decorated statue. Fr Freddy D' Souza, the Assistant Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church blessed the new corn. In his address he emphasized the significance of Nativity Feast spiritually as well as depicting the family values.
The children offered flowers to Mother Mary with mellifluous hymn "Moriyek Hogalsiyam".
The cultural programme followed consisting of songs, dances and comedy skits.

Top actors of Bahrain Stany Dsouza, Sujay Pinto and Gregory made the crowd roll with laughter with some funny skits.

The dancing trio enthralled the gathering with beautifully choreographed dance “Hein manglur Amchem”

Konkani Kutam’s executive member Henry Almeida offered vote of Thanks.

Walter Dantis compered the nativity feast celebration program.

    Congrats Sydney. You are close to be the next contender for this title. Try your best and try to get the trophy back to Kallianpur. We have to prove that we are proud to be from Kallianpur. Try to reduce a bit of tremolo in your voice and i can assure you, no one can come close to your voice.
