Beltangady, Oct 24: A publicity program of the Social Justice Conference was held by Popular Front of India, here on Friday October 21.

Inaugurating the programme, AM Ataullah, zonal president of DK-Udupi said that the Dalith community which gave great leaders like Dr B R Ambedkar is banned from entering in to the villages. Muslims, whose part was stupendous in the country’s freedom struggle, are living in pathetic situation in the country even being worse than te Daliths. He said that few elements are trying to link Popular Front to terrorism even though it was working within the preview of law. The organization will never blow to any false propaganda and it has already reached 16 states of our country. He also invited people to Social Justice Conference, will be held on November 26-27 at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi.

Speaking at the programme, Abdul Majeed Kodlipete, Karntaka state president of Social Democratic Party of India said, “Our constitution says that no one can be subjected to discrimination on the grounds of caste, creed, religion and place of birth. But what is happening in our country? Upper class people in our country including politicians, police, and intelligence agencies are depriving the rights of backward sections of the society”.

He said that at present in our country jails are being filled with corrupt politicians. Corruption is prevalent in BJP ruling Karnataka state and even ministers of this government including former chief minister Yeddyurappa are behind bars. “Our government is arranging luxurious life for them even in the jails with providing delicious foods and sleeping arrangements while people from lower sections who were sent to jail in small theft cases are spending terrifying life. Where is social justice in our country?”, he questioned.
He also focused about exploitation on Daliths, Adivasis and Minorities. “Daliths are discriminated and exploited in the name of caste. One Dalith person is exploited and one Dalith woman is raped per every half an hour in our country” he said. He said that always minorities are victims of communal violence that our country witnessed continuously after independence. Muslim innocent youth are sent to jails in the cases what they have never committed. “Our constitution says that backward communities, minorities, scheduled cast and scheduled tribes should be given special privileges in order to maintain social equality in the society. Are our governments providing these privileges to these sections?”, he asked

He further adds, saying, “In our country 1% of farmers are sharing 99% of land while 99% of farmers sharing only 1% of land. Is it social equality?” He said Article 39 of Indian constitutions says that resources of our country should be shared equally. But now CBI enquiry has proved that, in Karnataka, Reddy brothers have owned mining resource of Rs 15, 000 crores.

Speaking about the 2G spectrum scam, he said, “The scandal cost Rs 1.76 lac crores for the state treasury. Several people in our country do not have even a piece of land to build a house while governments are competing against each other to give lands of our country for Multinational companies and SEZ.”

PUCL state president P B Desa said that most of police encounters in our country are fake encounters. There were hands of police behind the murder of Advocate Noushad Khasimji, human rights activist. Earlier single member bench of Karnataka high court had shown green signal to CBI probe into the Khasimji murder case, unfortunately higher bench has stayed the order saying that Karnataka state police are able to handle the case.
