Riyadh, Sep 10: SAUDI KONKAN ASSOCIATION Riyadh – celebrated Nativity Feast in a traditional way together as one family on Friday, 9th September.
SKAR secretary and Master of ceremony Mrs. Shanti Thomas welcomed the gathering and the guests. The celebration started with a short procession by little children and teenagers carrying the corn ( Novem ) and the statue of Mary with colorful flowers singing the traditional hymn‘’Sokkad Sangata Melyam’’
Prayer session was led by Shanthi Dsouza and Wilfred goveas . After the novena prayer, children joyfully showered flower petals on Infant Mary as the gathering sang the hymn ‘Moriyek Hogolshiyam”. ‘’Novem’’ with milk was served to all.
Ambrose Cordiero President SKAR gave a brief message on the significance of this Feast and importance of Mother Mary in our life.
On this occasion outgoing senior member Leo Sequeira was felicitated for his selfless service and dedication to SKAR. The Day was filled with lots of entertainment as Martin & Ambrose conducted variety of games for children and adults. A traditional vegetarian meal "Novem Jevan" was prepared by the members and served on "shiratyo" (planton leaves) .
The programme was concluded by distribution of prizes and vote of thanks by Shanthi Dsouza .

Is it bannana leaves available in saudi arabia???..may be chances incoming during onam fesitval..Nice to see people use bannana leaves as like during 'dusheera' having only vegetable items.. Wish you one and all..
