Kashyap's '...Yellow Boots' to release in Britain


New Delhi, Aug 27 (IANS) Anurag Kashyap couldn't have been a happier man. After the US, his next production "That Girl In Yellow Boots" will also release in Britain, thanks to a deal with Mara Pictures.

"We have signed a deal with Britain-based Mara Pictures to release the film there. We met these people at the London Indian Film Festival and finalized it," Guneet Monga, associate producer of the film, told IANS.

"That Girl In Yellow Boots", Kashyap's first worldwide release, will hit US theatres Sep 2, the same date as it opens in India. However, no dates have been finalized for its release in Britain.

"It is releasing in close to 40 theatres across US. We have closed the deal for the release in Britain, but it will open there subsequently. No dates have been fixed as yet," added Monga.

"That Girl in Yellow Boots" is written by and stars Kashyap's wife, actress Kalki Koechlin.

Also featuring Naseeruddin Shah, the movie narrates the the story of a girl who comes to India in search of her father and the journey that she undertakes.

It has already been to the Toronto and Venice film festivals and it premiered in New York Wednesday.
