Please accept my sincere condolences on the death of your beloved Jessy Rego. To me, she was a perfect example of how love and kindness, when spread among many, becomes more and not less. She had an amazing gift of making all feel welcome and valued. As we begin to look at some photos of her, sad that there will never be any more photos but grateful for the photos we have, we notice the grace that always shone through and the twinkle in her eyes.

Though her wise and loving heart is no longer with us on this earth, she leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, kindness, duty and inclusiveness for us all to follow. In Arabic, the condolences translate as “We belong to God and to Him we shall return”. May she rest in peace.

I met Mrs. Rego on only one occasion, that of my brother, Austin's wedding to her daughter, Charlotte in the early nineties. The unspoken feeling of warmth, peace and love which she spread then has remained with me to this day. She holds a very special place in my heart. I was struck by how she was able to have her children build powerful bonds of love with each other and their families. And she did it all without saying a word -- all by just who she was: loving, accepting, forgiving, giving hope.
The family has lost a 'giant'. And even though my heart is filled with an immense sadness, her memory continues to shed light and hope.
My deepest condolences to her entire family. May they be consoled by the fact that she continues to bless them even more powerfully and bring them together.
