Visitation at “Deva Kripa” Bethany Convent, Attavar on Sunday, June 9, at 1.30 pm, funeral Mass at Milagres Church at 3.30 pm followed by the burial.

Long ago in Mangalore in 1927
Baby Florrie made her way while angels watched from Heaven
She grew up quick- tough and strong and along the way
The friends she made with folks she met were always there to stay
For they recognised in Florrie thoughtful selfless ways
And qualities endearing deserving of fine praise
A joy to all who knew her; she always had a smile
With Kindness and Compassion – she walked the extra mile
Unfailingly gracious she had us all entranced
When she sang “You are my Sunshine” and shook a leg and danced
Her zest for life infectious she loved to sing along
She charmed us on her 90th with her speech and song
She loved crosswords and puzzles and every day at five
Vijay would ask her times tables which kept her mind alive
5 times 7, 12 times 8 and 41 times 3
Her answers right he clapped hands for our dear Aunty Florrie
She dazzled with her humour and her sparkling wit
Despite her fall 2 years ago she chose to fight not quit
Soft-spoken but strong willed she had her share of pain
But chose to soldier on with life and didn’t cry or complain
Bereft with grief she struggled and she didn’t have a clue
Of how she’d overcome her pain when she lost Vinoo
She clung to faith and plodded on submitting to his will
With grit and stoic calm she was so dignified and still
It’s hard to say Goodbye to you – Our dearest Aunty Florrie
Most of all you will be missed by Vijay and Rose Marie
Heartbroken and saddened are Marilyn and Ron
Who loved you like a mother and struggle to move on
You’ll feel her presence every day Dear Rosemarie and Ron
She’s right there in your hearts throughout though you might think she’s gone
She’s holding hands with you through out – Vijay and Marilyn
She’s never far away from you – she’s right within your skin
Nicole, Ivan and Nathan – we feel your pain and loss
And beckon you to stay strong while she makes her way across
As she makes her way to Heaven she implores you not to cry
