Sr Millicent Pinto UFS (Celestine Pinto) (92), daugher of the late Xavier Pinto and the late Juana Pinto (Bondel), sister of the late Sr Monica (Cloistered nun), Agnes and the late Alphonso Concessao (Vacola), Fr Theodore Pinto (London / Ontario), Henry Pinto and Nancy Pinto (Padavinangady), the late Winnifred and the late Ignatius Colaco (Mulki), Gerald and Patricia Pinto (Doha), passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019.

Mortal remains will be brought to Holy Rosary Convent, Jeppu, Mangalore on Saturday, May 4 at 1:00 pm. Funeral Mass at 3:30 pm in the Convent Chapel.

Sr Melicent played a vital role in my personal life. She helped me to transform my life through her spiritual guidance. Few days ago, she had told me, “My son! I’m offering my suffering to Lord Jesus to grant you blessings.” I feel very emotional whenever I recollect this statement. She was like my second mother in this mortal life. She followed the great virtue of humility, a prefect model of a true Christian. She was kind in helping others regardless of cast & religion. I’m deeply saddened by her passing. I thank all the sisters & the superior of ‘Holy Rosary convent,” Jeppu, and also her family members and whoever had supported her for taking care of her and responding to her call especially during her last days. Thanks to a catholic maid who was treating her in her personal needs.
Let us pray for her soul!

Sr.Millicent, a very kind hearted and loving person who was called "Sister Mai" by many people who knew her very closely. A very simple, humble and noble person who would reach out to the poorest of the poor. I had met her for the first time at Jog Falls way back in late 70's. After knowing her mission I had interviewed her for Raknno. She used to call me atleast once a in a month and talk for 10 minutes or more. She had brought out some CDs of hymns and books. She used to give me lots of religious books whenever I visited her. I thank God for giving her a long life. She is an exempary person to all of us. May God grant her eternal Peace. A loving tribute to dear Sr.Millicent.

She was called as MOTHER by every one who ever had met her. I am her student 50 Years back at Jog Falls. She opened the convent there and taught thousands of students in her short life of 91 Years. Her students are all over the world and are doing good in their life. She used to pray for every student, every individual who had met her. Her blessings are there to every one.

She is another saint for us. We may not be able to bear the loss but GOD has his own plans.

MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.
