It’s Empty

The tomb is empty

The economy is empty; the streets are empty; bus stations are empty; railways are empty; airports are empty; malls are empty; schools are empty; the world is empty

Hearts of people are empty; gods are empty; rituals are empty; way of life is empty; charity is empty; communication is empty; everything is empty; it is total shunya; emptiness all.

“As flies to wanton boys are we to the gods;

They kill us for their sport”. Shakespeare’s King Lear

Reasons reasoned out; motives attributed; hypotheses framed; conclusions drawn; accusations levelled; economies ruined; life miserable

Is it another deluge like Noah’s? A plague like of old? Ravaging fire of London? Bushfire of Australia?

Why is this corona and whose is this corona?

Is it to put us in place (I may sound ridiculous)?

Remedies galore from the ancient times to the ultramodern.

Ultimately this corona has succeeded in one truth-it made us awake; it ripped us apart to show to the world what we are.

  • The author of the poem / article / short story should include a brief self-introduction limited to 500 characters and his/her recent picture (optional). Pictures relevant to the article may also be sent (optional), provided they are not bound by copyright. Travelogues should be sent along with relevant pictures not sourced from the Internet. Travelogues without relevant pictures will be rejected.
  • In case of a short story / article, the write-up should be at least one-and-a-half pages in word document in Times New Roman font 12 (or, about 700-800 words). Contributors are requested to keep their write-ups limited to a maximum of four pages. Longer write-ups may be sent in parts to publish in installments. Each installment should be sent within a week of the previous installment. A single poem sent for publication should be at least 3/4th of a page in length. Multiple short poems may be submitted for single publication.
  • All submissions should be in Microsoft Word format or text file. Pictures should not be larger than 1000 pixels in width, and of good resolution. Pictures should be attached separately in the mail and may be numbered if the author wants them to be placed in order.
  • Submission of the article / poem / short story does not automatically entail that it would be published. Daijiworld editors will examine each submission and decide on its acceptance/rejection purely based on merit.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to edit the submission if necessary for grammar and spelling, without compromising on the author's tone and message.
  • Daijiworld reserves the right to reject submissions without prior notice. Mails/calls on the status of the submission will not be entertained. Contributors are requested to be patient.
  • The article / poem / short story should not be targeted directly or indirectly at any individual/group/community. Daijiworld will not assume responsibility for factual errors in the submission.
  • Once accepted, the article / poem / short story will be published as and when we have space. Publication may take up to four weeks from the date of submission of the write-up, depending on the number of submissions we receive. No author will be published twice in succession or twice within a fortnight.
  • Time-bound articles (example, on Mother's Day) should be sent at least a week in advance. Please specify the occasion as well as the date on which you would like it published while sending the write-up.

    God has allowed this communist corona virus to learn about communism, no God, no freedom, food control to everything under control. Most of us following God for the namesake and not with real love. This is a time to reflect and come back to Him and make use of the time given in prayers for self, family, country and the world to avoid dragging of the situation, lockdown or to become worse.

    It should be plainly understood no prayers no protection from God, so to add daily at least one hour prayers in one's lifestyle also some prayers along with the family to avoid this emptiness getting prolonged.

    The Coronavirus has made everyone humble. The nations and conquerors who wanted to conquer or war on others have been silent, they are waring within themselves. The dissenters who wanted to ban other countries for their technological development have felt the need of them for survival. The autocrats who thought they can rule their country have found the need for others for support to survive. The capitalist who found that their money has gone in thin air and does not have value. The heroes and heroines who acted in films and showed their heroics are locked down in their houses. People who never looked at their neighbour started sharing their food with them. The religious who thought their religion is superior to others are searching for a godly reason to explain the deluge of the virus- it has not left any religion or religious people.

    There is no difference between the beauty and the beast, everyone is the same in the dark confines. Death or survival has been the ultimate reprieve everything other than this has lost its significance.

    Hope this humbleness becomes a day to day way of life and duty and not a temporary passover
