New Delhi, Nov 18: In all seventeen of Ryan Schools were accredited with the British Council International School Award (ISA), among the total 59 schools in India that have qualified for the award in 2009 – 10. 

The awards were presented by Ruth Gee, director of British Council (India and Sri Lanka) and Sally Goggin, director of education , British Council (India and Sri Lanka), in a ceremony held at British Council division in New Delhi, recently.

The ISA is an accreditation scheme run by the British Council for the department for children, schools and families in the United Kingdom. The scheme recognizes good practice in adding an international dimension to the school curriculum.
 
Indian schools that successfully attain the Full ISA Award are accredited for three years. During this time they will be able to use the British Council ISA for purposes of publicity and promotion of the school. The schools aspiring to the ISA are given advice and guidance by the British Council in planning, executing and recording international activity in the school.
 
The schools produce a portfolio of evidence showcasing the range of their international activity throughout the school year. The full accreditation process takes around 12 months to complete. The scheme has accredited about 670 schools in the UK since the initial pilot project in 1998.
