Mangalore: Canara High School observes Founders Day

Mangalore, Jul 25: The Founders Day of Canara High School (Main) was observed in the school premises on July 19. The day is observed on the birth anniversary of the late Ammembal Subba Rao Pai, founder of Canara educational and financial institutions.



School manager Vaman Kamath garlanded the bust of the late Ammembal Subba Rao Pai on the occasion. School teachers and student leaders too garlanded the bust to pay their respects.

A ceremony to release a publication titled 'Can News' was held on this occasion. In-charge head master of the high school H Raghavendra Rao and teacher Sridhar Rao in their addresses, reminisced the ideals for which the founder of the school, Ammembal Subba Rao Pai lived.

Ganesh Kamat presented the programme.

I donít think so July 19 is founders day of canara high school. The founderís day is November 19th. I can not forget that. I never used to miss that day if was in Mangalore. The birthday of great personality of Mangalore Mr.Ammembal Subba Rao Pai, founder of Canara Bank, Canara group of schools and great lawyer of Mangalore and madras.

I am a student of Canara high school (main) in 1984-1986 batch, this celebration reminded me of the days we used to celebrate in with school uniform in the school premises.
