Mangalore: Five Arrested from Maryhill House for Filming Porn

Daijiworld Media Network—Mangalore (RS/CN)

Mangalore, Jun 30:
A police team arrested two girls and three boys from a house in Gurunagar near Maryhill on Tuesday June 30. They have been charged with engaging in the flesh trade and making porn films using mobile cameras.

The initial information received from the police is that the boys were using the house of their friend for their illegal ventures. The girls were there during college hours for they had informed their families that they would be attending college during these times.

After the police, acting on a tip-off, entered the house, the girls pleaded their innocence. As the police also seized proof related to the goings-on in the house, all of them were arrested and taken to the police station.

One of the girls claimed that that she was pursuing a course in a private institute and was living with her mother as her father was employed in the Middle East.

The police have refused to disclose the names and other details of the youngsters as the matter is still under investigation.

A resident in the neighbourhood summoned the police after he noticed a steady stream of unfamiliar girls and boys visiting the house over the past year. He suspects that there are more than five youngsters involved in the incident.

Police in Mangalore rural police station have taken these five into custody and are probing the matter.

Please leave the innocent kids free. They must definitely be having some fun chatting together , taking group photographs and nothing more. In college campuses they are strictly forbidden doing these things. Hence they must have taken this opportunity for a get together and to have some sort of fun. Please do not exaggerate the situation. Dirty mind thinks dirty. Police must concentrate on more serious issues.

if prostitution was started by mughals, what do you say about Devadasi system? Prostituion is referred in all religious books and we can find them in Quran, vedas, gita, etc. No community or religion is free from this vice. Dont color it with communual brush. Sex is practiced and enjoyed by all followers of all religions, thats how we have mulitplied.

It is the duty of parents to imbibe good value and culture in children, so that when they grow up they will build a healthy community and nation. Though parents give freedom to children, they should also supervise them with eagle eyes, but sometimes even after parents discipline the children fall into wayward ways and they learn it the hard way. why, we Indians have to only imitate the bad and wrong of western culture. They also have so many good things like cleanliness, social security, literacy, sufficient food and shelter.

The culture of "materialism" is the root cause of the revolution in creating fast money, whether it is pushing drugs or pornography. Both the flesh trade and drugs were in the society from the very early stage of human civilization, but these evils of the society are getting widespread due to the modern inventions. If not checked, they are very dangerious to the society, for both the young and old. How some people can name these demeaning acts as "culture"? It is not a culture, but totally diabolical and destructive habits to create fast and easy money.

This is extremely disturbing. In this case you cant blame the parents, or the " pub culture" as one would put that cross. These kids are college going students and they have a mind, conscience of their own and are aware of their lewd acts. Why blame the culture, media, parents??

Blame them!!...Its only when we quit this whole blame game business and become proactive, increase regulation, start looking at things from a logical perspective, will things work out.

From the comments here we get to know how little some of the Mangalorean residents know about the traditions and culture of the land. Sitting in judgement of others is a fav pastime of most losers. I bet they lack self esteem and achievement. Most of all they are not free as they are bogged down by imaginary culture, values, Gods and what have you. Travelling around the world would be a good start for those who can and the rest is read books written by those who have travelled and experienced life to the fullest. The ocean is not only water, lots of life exists beneath only if you dare to explore. So also with people.

I read Lord McAulay''s statement made in 1835. He was disgusted with the culture where men having sex with animals evident by the erotic scruptures at the Kajurao temple. He was also disgusted with the culture that allowed human sacrifice to please Gods. He has changed the educational system because the ancient system allowed only Bhrahamins to learn according to Manusmrithi. We must be grateful to Lord McAulay for his innovation.

i am more that sure that they were just indulging in personal pleasure and not intending to make or promote porn. They are adults and free to do so as long as it is done in a private place. This is what the police can do when they want to tarnish ones reputation.

I am sure the court will let the innocent gals and guys off and the guilty police should be taken to task for tarnishing the gals image.

Some people who have not visited a pub even out of curiousity let alone drinking, built their imagination out of some old Hindi or Kannada movies that it is vice. For people who love to unwind in pubs it is a trendier version of a bar. Calling to ban pubs is like asking to ban multiplexes without banning cinemas itself. When all forms of reasonable healthy forms of entertainment is forbidden, the dangerous human mind will invent unhealthy ways of amusement.

Most of the people are blaming culture, pubs and the west for the acts of a few misguided youth. There is the Police and there are parents. Leave it to them to solve this problem. These youth still have their lives ahead of them, so let the Police and parents get them some help like counselling to mend their ways instead of destroying their future.

For all those who are talking about culture and all that.... do you even know what culture is all about. If you are so against the western culture stop the use of TV, Fridge, Mobile phones.... For a fact you will never in your widlest dreams give up all this. For a fact because of the westerns India today has taken a step towards development or else where would all the educated go for jobs.

Other thing do you think our fellow indian or mangi brother and sisters living abroad indulge in their culture. Why dont u go and stop them. What i was trying to say is do not relate incidents. and dont blow things out of proportion. Whats happened is wrong and hope our Law sets a good example.

Mubarak-Kasargod, ''Indian culture slowly heading towards Europe''. Which culture you are talking about?  Is it demolishing places of worship? or attacking innocent people or the pub goers?. Living in a multicultural country of Europe I never heard or experienced this culture at all. Please use your knowledge and don''t blame Europe for our mistakes.

Please mention ''pub culture'' for something not related to the subject. This is a very common phenomena which has been happening from time immemorial all over the world. Please remember that a criminal is just like rest of the people but for that he got caught. This is a daily happening even in the gulf in spite of strict rules and regulations. So whom to blame ?

People are too much in a hurry to blame western culture, pub culture and so on. This is a matter of values and how the children have been brought up and the external influences. Considering all the above it is better to refrain from expressing unwanted and irrelavent comments. There are authorities to deal with it and then finally it all depends on how honest or corrupt they are.

''Prostitution'' starts from mughal period..Mughals use to keep more than hundred wives for their purposes.. earlier it started from ''kotewali with mujras'' it''s now shifted to Hyderabad, Lucknow, Mumbai, Hira-mandi (now in pakistan) etc having settled down by themselves in brothels..Afterall it's question of there livelihood..Mughals wiped out...but stigma still left behind..

Lord Macaulay''s address to the british parliament in 2nd feb 1835. .....===.... that i would not think we would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very back bone of this nation, whih is her spiritual and cultural heritage, and, there fore, i propose that,we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if the indian think that all that is foreign and english is good and greater than their own, they will loose their self esteem, their native culture and they will become what we want them,a truly dominated nation.

Prostitution is the oldest profession on earth and existed even before humans learnt to cook food. It exists in secrecy even in ultra strict countries. In Mangalore this is not the first time this thing has happened.

Crime in different forms will continue to take place as long as humans exist in this world as we all have a element of evil within us. We need to look at things from a very rational way.

We talk about western culture as if our own culture was from heaven above. If we study the history we will know whose culture was what? The people who are critisizing here about this incident and asking ram sena and bajrang dal to take the initiative are nothing but a group of hypocrites.

As someone said how many of these people abstain from watching porn! Matter of fact if the girls who were caught had invited them to have fun, how many of these accusers would have lead them to right path? Why don''t we remove the block from our own eyes before looking at the speck from our enemies eyes.

Flesh trades are normal in every corner of mangalore. Most of the Mangaloreans know  the whereabouts of these culprits. The Police should mingle with public to find out all those culprits and should take very stringent actions against them.

I think people are just too excited and anxious to comment when such articles are published. While i think Daijiworld has done a commendable job of reporting this incident at the same time its advisable that we show some restraint in commenting blindly and passing verdicts without going to the bottom of the case.

If these people are accused of a crime then let law and investigation take its course and then it''ll be for the Law to decide whether or not they are guilty.

India is the second most populous country in the world. We as Indians have earned this dubious distinction not because of Western influences or pub culture or bad parenting or similar reasons but rather because apparently Indians are no laggards in the unprotected sex department.

People who get involved in Porn will no doubt have a reason for it that makes perfectly good sense to them. I cannot see why such a big deal is being made about this. Seriously Mangalore/India has a lot more pressing problems than so many of us preaching on the moral issues raised by some teenagers entertaining themselves.

Past, present & in future these kind of activities keep on going in everywhere in this world. If you concentrate in Mangalore there are some lodges getting business only through these kind activities. Some women in m’lore standing on city streets only for this purpose.

One must understand that we have a strong police force formed legitimately by the judiciary that cannot allow parallel policing by any organisation. If it does the two will clash and one has to be outsted.

Can anybody explain what gives any Sena the authority to do moral policing? Won''t it encourage lots of others to come with their own private Senas. And finally will these Senas really be able to prevent these kinds of incidents? Does anybody in the world have special powers to foresee crime?

If going to pubs is bad and the cause for such incidents, is drinking illicit booze ok, is it ok to drink country booze and arrack. Do they make you a cultured person. Wanting goons beat up your sisters and daughters on the streets means that you have been unfit parents and have failed in your duties as parents.

If you discharge your duties and responsibilities at home towards your children, and teach them good values and spend more time with them, then such problems will not occur.
