Fighting against the rough sea, he reached Kodi Kanyana light house by 1 pm. He brushed against the unfavourable sea with all his determination to prove to the world that even physically-challenged people can live a normal life.

Gopal Kharvi, Uday Kumar and Soma Kharvi, father of Prakash sailed in a help boat all the way along with Prakash, thus motivating him. Prakash is the son of Soma Kharvi from Kodi Kanyana.

Baikady Suprasad Shetty, president, BJP welcomed Prakash Kharvi at light house along with other dignitaries. He was also felicitated by the Sumadhura Yuvaka Mandala Kodi for his achievement.

Prakash became a victim of polio when he was about a year old. But he was not like others he made use of his disadvantage. He started accompanying his father in the boat for fishing and became a bread winner for the family.

With the aim in his life to prove himself capable, he took training under Gopal Kharvi and ventured into 25 kms marathon swimming from Hangarakatte estuary to Malpe beach on December 31, 2006, creating a record.

He created a new record to break his own old record exactly after a year.
