Fostering The Spirit of Enterpreneurship

Mumbai

from Rons Bantwal for Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai (GA)

Mumbai, May 8: It was a memorable and historic day for the residents of the metro city as world's largest passenger aircraft Airbus A380 landed it the city on Tuesday May 8 evening.

As it passed through the Mumbai skies people just moved out of their houses, offices to have a glimpse of this mammoth metal bird.

The 555-seater super jumbo is considered to be a flying wonder by many and is on maiden flying to India as part of second anniversary of Kingfisher Airlines.

The aircraft had earlier arrived in New Delhi on Sunday May 6 and was in the city for two days before taking-off to Mumbai.  Right now only New Delhi, Mumbai and Kochi airports in India are capable of handling this mighty metal bird.  However, country's new international airports at Bangalore and Hyderabad will ensure that they can handle this mammoth steel bird.

The size of the aircraft, as well as its passenger load, means that airports around the world are trying to figure-out ways to accommodate the plane and handle the sudden rush of traffic that the arrival and departure of each such plane entails.

Kingfisher is the only Indian carrier that has placed order for this aircraft and it is supposed to receive its first aircraft in 2011.
