Lucknow, Apr 7: A beleaugured Indian cricket administration on Thursday recieved a further jolt after Railway Minister Lalu Prasad demanded CBI probe into India-Bangladesh World Cup group match played on March 17, in which the former champions were shamelessly beaten by their less-formidable neighbours.

"I have specific information that bookies had at stake of Rs 6000 crore on this match which India lost and which ultimately caused Team India's ouster from the World Cup,'' he claimed.

This explosive statement from Lalu came at a juncture when the Indian cricket has been passing through a tough phase in the wake of a humilating World Cup performance, subsequently, followed by the resignation of Team India coach Greg Chappel.

Addressing a press conference here, Yadav, who also happens to be the president of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), said Indian cricket administration require a complete overhaul and a high level probe should be ordered in the irregularities.

Blaming the cricketers for lacking team spirit, he said the faulty selection procedure has added insult to the injury.

When asked about the resignation of coach Greg Chappel, an inimitable Lalu said: "Why only Greg, sack the entire team." Putting a big question mark on the functioning of Board of Conrol for Cricket in India (BCCI), he alleged that the apex cricket body of the country had been dominated by Maharastra, West Bengal and Karnataka lobbies and asserted that a serious look-in is need of the hour.

The BCA president further added that the regional protests over non-inclusion of their players did not augur well as far as growth of cricket in the country was concerned.

'"I think they (BCCI) fear that my entry would demolish their caucus and would be detrimental to their ulterior motives and designs,'' Lalu said about the board's decision of not registering his state cricket association.
