I think in the chikodi constituency Ramesh quote will be a strong candidate for this election, and congress is trying very hard to get a candidate to match his stature, congress has to look at a candidate who has been loyal and capable, and from the list of probables I think Mr Omprakesh Kanagali is the best suitable one as he has been loyal and capable to drive. I think its very important to look at the candidate and party equally as both the parties have good, capable candidates.

My personal view! Weneed Congress in the State and Modi at Center!

We live peacefully in Karnataka and Nation lives peacefully at NM leadership. not even a single clue to say he is communalist except unfortunate 2002 incident. Janardana Poojary in Mangalore, Modi at Center. how is it? just to make loca goons powerless and Nation corrupt free.

Not bothered about the BJP candidates. Our aim is to make NaMo as our PM in 2014.Only for this reason I have been supporting BJP.I have been spending out of my pocket in canvassing for Modiji greatest ever leader of the country.

Some of these old congress leaders at their ages 30s or 40s sacrificed their lives for us when they first became MPS of india. Probably their task is slightly incomplete in making india a corrupt free country and that's why they have come again for asking your help in their ripe age of late 70s almost 40 years service against corruption. A great effort to travel from Karnataka to delhi at the age of 80!

If Janardhana Poojari gets ticket for Mangalore,it will be a cake walk for Congress in Mangalore and Udupi as well.Jayaprakash Hegde will win with a thumping majority. If Harsha Moily contests, then Nalin Kumar Kateel will retain BJP seat.

Yetthinahole project was signed and sanctioned by SadaaAnanda Gowda. Do we need such betrayers as our politicians??? We have 2 rivers flowing across Mlore, still we are facing a shortage of water in the summer. Just imagine when Nethravathi is diverted what will be the situation.

Ranjith Rodrigues, udupi
Friday, February 07, 2014

I wonder if Sadananda Gowda will get more votes than his 32 pearly, white teeth, which he likes to proudly show....!

Nalin Kumar needs to learn at least one more language besides, tulu, if he wants to win (no problem even if it is tamil, beary, konkani or malayalam, as he is really finding English and Hindi to be difficult languages to learn. Even tuition classes might not help!).

N.M, Mangalore
Friday, February 07, 2014

Nalin Kumar is a unworthy candidate whose performance has been extremely poor since 5 years. He hasn't been a part of any meaningful debates in Lok Sabha and he has failed to bag major projects for Mangalore. He has chosen to remain silent when there has been rise of communal ism in Mangalore.

We need to stop mixing religion with politics and must vote for a candidate who will truly represent Mangalore in the parliament.

KRPrabhu, Bangalore
Saturday, February 08, 2014

Dear N.M,After seeing what has happened in Ullal two days back and how majority community suffered due to communal elements mischief and response by local MLA for the peoples plights, even if Nalin is useless, has brought no projects to Mangalore, keeping the interest of majority communities and their peaceful living, he should be given chance once again and not Congress candidate.Ullal episode is a warning signal for those who advocate Congress victory in Mangalore.Mangalore city becoming once again Ullal, cant be ruled out if BJP candidate is not elected.

What else you want him to do, he is one of the most sensible parliamentarian's Karnataka has sent. His political career speaks for him....for once come out of feku agenda and see what he has done for people of UDUPI...had he not done good work DVS would have already accepted his candidature and started campaigning..

Dear Adil khan
First ask the question to yourselves. Do you guys support your own community member is he joins BJP ? You guys will accuse of being corrupt and that he has joined the non believer party, a infidel party,a communal party etc etc....

You guys blindly vote for congress even if it gives tickets to a donkey at the same time want BJP to give tickets to minorities just to play vote bank politics like congress ??? So that congress can win easily????? No need boss, if u trust the candidate vote else it's democracy.

Aadil Khan, Kasaragod, Saudi Arabia
Friday, February 07, 2014

BJP always boasts and beats drum that it is not communal rather a very secular party. If so, why no candidates in the list from minority section?

It is a million dollar question, isn't it?

vikas, Bangalore
Sunday, February 09, 2014

Million dollar question??
ha ha ha.

The 9 candidature list announced by Congress also doesn't have candidates from minorities.

William, Bantwal
Friday, February 07, 2014

We want to check their CV before voting. Their black history with black marks (red marks)and good deeds. We cannot vote blindly any more now. What are the new promises and projects/plans in future, should be mentioned. We want to read the previous history.

Ysh, Mangalore
Friday, February 07, 2014

Mr. Nalin & DVS you better not contest! Many would be having much confidence that with Namo brand they might win.But DK People are very clever, they can't vote who did nothing for them. Better sacrifice your seats with some youth/fresh faces instead of getting defeated image. @Congress HC, please change useless Moily-Dharam-Kharge combo.

i thought people from mangalore and Dakshina kannada are smart. Some of the above comments show my assumption is wrong. i still dont understand what you guys think of the country.why the heck you want see who the BJP candidate is ? if the BJP candidate in your area wins only then modi will be the prime minister.just because somebody dint do something to your locality or your house y you guys want to sacrifice the entire nation ? Shame on you'll.what has the congress done ? i read about Ullal last week.why you guys are not thinking of this ? so no matter how many hindus die,you people are worried abt drainage and tar roads to your locality. what brains do you guys have? do you people know how many hindu sisters are raped and extorted to arab countries per day?why nobody is talking abt this ? please vote for BJP my brothers and sisters..just dont think abt your environment.. real secularism should be shown now, not when india plays a match against pakistan.. i dint expect this from this part of karnataka..

Mr. Ramesh, plz kindly read National news first before commenting. You want actions from AAP led Delhi govt ... that to within a month for everything. And all issues that they promised. They are surely delivering in some of them. It will take time for a newcomer. What about our National parties that promised a lot in the past decades for Mangalore in particular. Yes, they took a lot of time to concretize roads, but without footpaths. Monorail is under the carpet, Signal lights with timers are not working, Traffic police are diverted for other duties as the ruling govt or next, do not want to fill vacancies and want to see more deaths on our roads…24 hour water/electricity are rare . Dams to supply drinking water for the public are missing deadlines. But water dams by Industries are finished and are already utilized by them. Now they are fighting over river bifurcation. Kadri park has a walkway utilized by a lot of people for health reasons, but now their main concern is to look down and not straight as there are many craters on this walkway. Funds are being allotted by both state and Centre both for rural and urban areas in the guise of development / Roads/ Education / Minority / Panchayats. All are unfinished and are waiting for reality of the promises made….C’mon readers should comment more for whatever they see from our BOSSES our PAST and FUTURE POLITICAL PARTIES.

No one undermines need for fight against corruption. But that cannot be the sole criteria to get elected, it is equally important to govern. That's where AAP fails.

In a democratic situation, you can not keep hurling abuses against everyone and get results. They are against Governor, employees, traders & even in one instance of court judgement against their law minister (tampering evidence) Mr.Kejriwal had the audacity to tell Court is wrong.

You are right, they are new & need time. Then why don't they learn in Delhi (unfortunately at the cost of Delhi) and branch out. Instead, they want to make mess of India.

Mr. Kejriwal supports his (un)Law Minister to hilt. AAP is supported by Bhushans with the contribution of over Rs.1.00 Crore, so no problem about ceding Kashmir..for public sake they disagree, but can not suspend Bhushan they way the suspended Binny.....& so on.

What is surprising is intelligent, educated, well informed are closing their eyes.

We need good governance.

This is LS elections & the individual candidates have limited role to play. It is the party that matters, as the governing will be by the Party principles & Dikkhat of the Party boss/FAM.

..Lambert, after DELHI experience i may vote for Pappu not for Krazy..AAP totally deviated from its policy, its now a pure political party like other which only want cheap publicity and hunt for vote by hook & crook..who ever opposes them, they are either Congress agent or BJP agent..recent addition for the Congress agent list is Delhi LG Mr.Najeeb jung who said as per constitutional requirement Janlokpal bill should be passed by Home ministry & LG..But AAP not ready to send it Home ministry!! AAP has created negative energy where citizen feels everything is bad happening around..Instead of finding solutions to past mistakes,AAP is busy only in confrontation..

And he betrayed whole undivided south canara by sanctioning River Netravati diversion project..he thought of getting ticket in Chikkaballapur or Bangalore north and get elected easily because of his Vokkaliga cast..he doesn't know that he had become CM because of selfish reason of Yeddiyurappa neither because of his capability..Now he lost hope of Tuluvas also ...god is great..jai Tulunadu

I wonder why south canara politicians are like this. even veerapa moily.. sadananda gowda and veerappa moily both are responsible for yetinahole project. we have to defeat such culprits.
