Good work. If everyone declines to pay bribe and reports the culprits to Lokayukta this menace will stop gradually.

These officials think that they came to this world for only money making and nothing else. It is a chain. Each link gets oiling. Otherwise govt.machinery will not work.

Every govt office should have the lokayuktha contact number and email displayed in Bold letter. Tired and frustrated can make use of it!

I dont think Just Rs51,000 is a big deal coz sometime people spend this amount in 5 star hotels for a day or two , so whats the big deal , relax

Mohan, Mangaluru
Thursday, March 21, 2013

Not a big deal ? How much one earn after putting his sweat down ? Resident white collar job holder 2 thousand Rupees per day and NRI, 3 to 4 Times more. If So if one is getting 47,000 Rupees on a day, on an average, is it not a big deal ? Yes its super duper deal.

Good Job. Now Government must inform  the public that Whoever takes bribe is a criminal and no bail must be allowed. Government must certain amount i.e. 2% of the money caught to the informers and Informers name must be kept secret. In this way most of the corrupt/criminals will be inside Government accommodation

in udipi district...there is no scope for any income..as not much companies/factories around..!! either he should go other city to earn his bread or abroad or easiest way to sell drugs..!! while looking around people pouring money from abroad...local people bound to carry a simple way to earn money...i.e.from corruption..!! for which after all we should blame government which ruled from so many years..!! people from kerala who migrated earlier..are now well-off controlling there business.. in good manners..!! in this world everybody wants to make money quickly..by any means.. and pour afterwards same to religious places. people who went throughout there life sincerely are upto last depend upon 'podee-meen'..and there assets nothing but there children's who taken right path..!!

Just imagine, if that is the collection for a day then per month (30 days)? (holidays not applicable as it can be paid anywhere. There will be D-Days like one important transaction Rs.50,000\- bribe too.
This person is not selfish. He always shares the amount collected with his boss\es (sounds like asses) so in a way I pity him for making only RS.20 to 25K per day!!!
I think these people to get these type of jobs initially have to bribe in lakhs same like Customs officers post prime airports etc., then only they can recover their money ten folds!!
Same like Politicians.
After this arrest, he'll be more famous and more in demand!!!!

WE NEED TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT BOTH BRIBE SEEKERS AND BRIBE GIVERS ARE PART AND PARCEL OF OUR SOCIETY. A OFFICIAL CAN NOT SEEK BRIBE WHEN A MEMBER OF PUBLIC ENGAGES IN ANY ACTIVITY WHICH IS IN COMPLIANCE OF LAW. HE CAN ONLY DELAY BUT WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF FINES FOR DELAY IN SERVICES DELAYS FROM BUREAUCRATS ARE GOING TO STOP OR COME DOWN.WE AS PUBLIC AS TO ASK OUR SELF WHETHER WE ARE CONDUCTING OUR BUSINESS (PERSONAL MATTERS AND TRANSACTIONS WITH THIRD PARTIES) LEGALLY AND ETHICALLY. IF THE ANSWER IS YES THERE IS NO NEED FOR ANY BRIBES AS WE SHOULD NOT BE WORRIED ABOUT THE LAW.
