Mangalore: Cheated by relatives, 'dead' man fights for justice

Mangalore: Cheated by relatives, 'dead' man fights for justice

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SP)

Mangalore, Mar 16: Ramanna Shetty from Bodantila village in Bantwal taluk is in a strange situation. He has been deemed dead by his relatives even though he is very much alive. He even possesses his own death certificate.

Ramanna submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday March 14, seeking redressal of his grievances. After perusing his appeal and the the he went through, the deputy commissioner, N Prakash, on Friday, ordered both the tahsildar of Bantwal and chief officer of Bantwal municipality to inquire into the case and provide feedback.

Shetty says that he had gone to Mumbai in 2002 in search of a job, and had become unconscious while driving a truck thereafter. After he was treated, he was admitted into an orphanage run by Mother Teresa Charitable Trust, Shantidhan Church, Borivli (west), Mumbai, as his address was not known to them. The people in the Ashram did not allow him to venture out, as he was treated as mentally unstable. A woman from the city, who visited the Ashram, identified him and helped him to join his family members, he explained.

“When I was in Mumbai, some of my relatives provided false information to Bantwal municipality, secured a death certificate in my name, and got 1.09 acres of my landed property transferred in their name after misleading the officials to believe that I did not have any legal heirs. The said land was in my name, I paid land revenue, and have wife and son. The death certificate gives my date of death as November 24, 2004, even though I am alive,” Shetty, who has become physically very weak, lamented.

Ramanna Shetty’s son, Satish Shetty, said that the family had tried to locate his father by visiting Mumbai, but did not succeed. He said that he came to know that the property was transferred to someone else, during his visit to revenue office in 2006 for paying land revenue, and that a court case was filed thereafter. The family now eagerly awaits justice.

Even though it is a fake certificate, property should goes to Rammanna Shetty’s immediate successors. Even relatives managed to get similar certificate for Rammanna’s wife & kid? Somewhat story is unclear & looks big conspiracy!!

When you have relatives like this who wants enemies? Most of Indians are morally corrupt and this is the reason for all our problems.

We always blame political parties and leaders, but real truth is different, we indians are mostly corrupt and lazy in nature. We want somebody esle to do our work and want others to change the society. We need a easy life by any means. We always boost that our culture is differnt, we have 100 gods to pray but still we are very much eager to cheat others. This is the main cause for corrupt india.

Per my knowledge a person missing for more than 7 years is considered legally dead and to obtain the certificate there is procedure!! In this case, appears like some authority has issued a certificate or a fake certificate used to usurp the victims property!!

People who accuse political parties (foreign power) for increasing corruption should look into this case. Most of the Indians are morally corrupt and indulge in practices which lead to all corruption in the country.

In UP these type of cases were detected in several thousands and they have formed what is called a MRITHIK JEEVIT ASSOCIATION ( DEAD -ALIVE ASSOCIATION) The Govt has started recognizing them as alive and haveebeen allotted lands and those officers involved have been dismissed from service .Now here who are all likely to be involved
1.The Greedy relatives of Mr Ramanna Shetty

2.One Taluk Office official or Gram Panchayat person who has issued Death certificate . In Mumbai it is impossible to get a Death certificate from Muncipality because unless they get direct confirmation from Crematorium they will never issue a death certificate
4. One Land Revenue official
OR None of the above
It may be just One Land Revenue Officer who has put False Death Certificate and then Transferred the Land Deed just like in UP

Dear Late sorry respected Ramanna Shettre, Indian Judicial System is some time acts so strange that fake death certificate can prove that person is dead though they are very much alive but now the onus falls on dead person to prove that he or she is the same person who was d death by issuing fake certificate. Better you kill those relative who grabbed your property and let their kin prove that you are not dead

I am very sad for Rammanna Shetty. Now a days people are not afraid to loot the temples /Church/Mosques, I am not surprised, these people looted your property.
