Bellevision Bahrain completes two successful years

Bahrain, Feb 27:
A great thought to unite all Belleians and surrounding parishioners on this small Island which emerged in the minds of few enthusiastic leaders gave birth to Bellevision Bahrain two years ago. Today Bellevision Bahrain has successfully completed 2 stunning years and to mark this occasion we held the 2nd annual day celebration recently at Ramada Palace Auditorium with family, friends and well wishers.

The event was compered by Baptist Sequeira and Alfreeda Castelino with a welcome and introduction was followed by prayer dance from Ashel and Jovita. Simon and Pressy Machado, well known for their philanthropic activities among Mangalorean community in Bahrain and all time supporters and well wishers were the chief guests for the evening. In their address, applauded the good work of community building and assured their support and conveyed their best wishes for the future.

Fr Freddy of Sacred Heart Church, Bahrain also graced the occasion. presidents of Konkan Singers Club and Kannada Sangha, were also present at the event.

In his presidential address, Kishore D’souza expressed his satisfaction for hosting various activities successfully for the past year and expressed his gratitude to all the Sponsors, well-wishers and all the members and the committee for their hard work and dedication.

General secretary Pramila Martis read out the annual report to the gathering highlighting all the programs conducted during the year. All the main sponsors, who have been supporting us round the year and our well wishers, were honored with memento and flowers.

The executive committee identified four commendable members for their dedicated service and contribution during the year and honored them with “Appreciation Awards”. These members were: Ronald Fernandes, Sharun D’souza, Alfreeda Castelino and Veera Fernandes.

Master Jason D’sa who had won the Table topic speech at Gavel Masters competition in Bahrain and Ms. Jovita D’sa who was identified as the all rounder in the children’s day competition were honored during the event. Team Yellow represented by Captain Joel D’sa who had won the sports day Champion Trophy, was also honored.

Non-stop cultural program of about 3 hours was lined up one after the other with dances, songs and skits by the members and children which kept the gathering entertained full time. Raffle draws were held between intervals which had attractive prizes.

Vice president Ivan D’souza proposed the vote of thanks and thanked each and everyone for their untiring support and love towards Bellevision Bahrain. Joel D’sa recited the grace before meals and scrumptious dinner was served by the hotel.

Having seen two victorious years under the efficient presidency of Joel and Kishore and their team, Bellevision Bahrain now steps into the third year. The association is now looking forward to a splendid committee to be chosen on February 28.
