Bangalore: On V-Day, dejected lover jumps from fourth floor, dies

Bangalore, Feb 14 (PTI): Talk of dying for love, and that too on Valentine's day.

A 26-year-old man committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of a commercial building in Adugodi police station limits today, police said.

The deceased was identified as Shabir Ahmed Rizvi, a native of Bhopal. He was working as a team leader in Ocwen Call Centre in Salarpuria towers, police said.

According to police, Rizvi came for work as usual. In the afternoon, he went up to the fourth floor and jumped from the french window in visitors' lobby.

A suicide note found in his pocket said he was dejected in love and none should be held responsible for his death.

Dear sofia, I really liked your comment....It needs guts to accept a person as he is...In Marriage it does not matter whether both are virgins(!) or not...!!! It does matter how you continue with your marriage and live happily. I congratulate you for you have done so (accepted that he had a girl friend). In my life I a have seen a girl who was not a virgin has married a Virgin (!) boy and makes a living enjoyable to both and their children. In Life it does not matter how one lived before marriage...it definitely matters how they live after marriage....!!!!???

@Roshan -since you seem to be an expert-What's this 'Falling'in love? Why not 'Get Up'or 'Immersed, Drooping in Love' etc?
'Falling' in love is somewhat misleading as it gives the same tinge as 'Falling' for something and being taken for a ride!! Isn't it?

Roshan,

What a foolish guy. Did he thought about his parents? He should have thought about his parents atleast. Who loved him the most.Guys don't ever fall for such girls who are just falling in love for your money not your love. May is soul RIP.

love lost, shabir is gone, may his soul rest in peace. why simply argue and comment, there's no point, people wont understand the value of family, love and affection. the family has lost their son, must be a bread earner, what must be their feelings, try to console them, whats the use of wagging our tongue

MAY THE YOUNGSTERS SOUL REST IN PEACE.

Mr. Rakesh Shetty, why are you blaming western culture for the suicide of one timid when millions of peoples especially youngsters celebrated Valentine Day in India. Do you want to say that other 364 days no body is committing suicide because of our great Indian culture.

To, that disagree to my comment.

I can guess the reason behind disagree. U r thinking my principle looks good in words but cant apply practically. But i am the witness that it works.I never wanted to share this fact but it may help many if i share. In my life i applied this principle to bring back my boyfriend to normal state after his first girlfriend walked away from his life. I slowly started to make him feel self-worthy. and now, the boy who wanted to leave the world is enjoying to live each second in the world. looking at his success his ex-GF surely feels she did a mistake & i am the luckiest girl to have him in my life.

Coward... spoiled name of the building and the real meaning of love of V-Day...
People live easy life... Always depending on parents money and advise will do this nonsense...
People live without knowing the real meaning of love or V-Day...
"IF YOU LIVED WITH YOUR PARTNER (HUSBAND OR WIFE) REAL LIFE WITH LOVE AND AFFECTION IN YOUR GOOD AND BAD DAYS AS WELL AS SHARED HAPPINESS AND DIFFICULTIES OF REAL LIFE (PARTICULARLY WORKING COUPLE WITH TWO-THREE KIDS...) REALLY FIND V-DAY AS SPECIAL DAY FOR THEM, AT LEAST AT THE AGE OF 40-45 YEARS, WHERE THEIR CHILDREN GROWN AND THE WORKING (TO LIVE PEACEFUL LIFE) PARTNERS (HUSBAND & WIFE) ARE ALL ALONE LIVING THEIR LIFE".

I am sure that, Bajrangis on the tree will enjoy the day as V-day... but not the BD on earth....

We can call this suicide as foolish but no one knows wat was going on in his mind. suicide prevention is a long term approach. youngsters must develop strong self-worth.when u dont know to love yourself, how can you love someone else? You love someone? y u want to prove u can die for him/her? show that u can live for him/her. u can live with the sweet memories of ur love. I bet it gives u strength & u can give credit of ur success to ur love.

Arrreeeyy, this RAKESH SHETTY and NAGESH NAYAK both are same but only the name changed. He likes DISAGREE's. that's why always he gives opposite comments.
About Shabir, he must be having some other reason behind suicide, which we do not know. So no comments on that sorry.
May his soul RIP.

Sad that this young man committed suicide for failed love life!
But sadly he did not even reasoned that he was MADLY in love with some one and would be giving up his life for someone WHO DIDN'T love him at all! Isn't it crazy?

Instead he should have visualized who really loved him!
He was confused, it wasn't love, but LUST, which is satanic! coming only to kill and steal away soul!

Vincy, Bangkok

I would say it is a murder of a love story rather believing in suicide. Do you expect us to believe that Shabir Ahmed Rizvi died because of dejected love story? The Fundamentalists indirectly killed him. The girl may be from different community who is scared to go out especially on V-day due to terror and havoc created by fundamentalist. Or it could be a threat from the girl’s side so he ended his life.

I Must to say Shabir Ahmed Rizvi he was a fool. He lost his valuable life in the name of love. and Love not means only do lovers in V. day. We also have Mother and Father day what about value of their love?

Suicides are more in East
Than in West.
Then why blame West for our faulty education, which only teaches to score more, if you don't then you are considered a failure,(in reality the academically successful people are failures in real life, as they are not taught how to face failure which is stepping stone of success as Michael Jorden, basketball player always proves).
On a lighter vein- in a seminar the resource person asked all- whether if u didn't find your present wife, would u have remained bachelor? The answer was no, we would have married some one else.
The same way world is full of opposites of the same species, with many varieties.
So if one rejects- your opportunity is now million fold, to get the PERFECT life partner. Until then move on.
Cultivate friendship with as many as you can, then u will find your life partner, unless you believe in traditional methods as superior to Love relationship.
Anyway Cupid didn't cause his death, but his failure to face the reality caused him to take this extreme step.

TO RAKESH SHETTY,
it is an unfortunate incident and shouldn't have happened. There can be many causes for this including personal insecurity, lack of affection from relatives etc.It can happen to anyone including me and you.
This incident doesn't allow you to justify the BEEDI 's illegal activities.
People up and down the country of India commit suicide on a regular basis due to marital problems (infact highest number in the world) , does it mean people should stop marrying?
About half a million people die in India due to road traffic accidents ,does it mean you will stop going out of your house?
People should undertsand from your support to BEEDI that your ability to think rationally is poor due to low IQ and we shouldnt bother to correct you !!! you can be the frog in the well until you regret it!

Rakesh Shetty/Mlore,
You seem to be against western culture, Then why are you using the internet and writing comments. Don't you know that internet was invented by the westerners.Stop using the internet and stop being a hypocrate.
Today a young precious life is lost because of irrelevant things and I feel sorry for his family. May his soul rest in peace.

Rakesh Shetty.. I am not supporter or follower of valentine day. If people celebrating i am not oppose. let them to do enjoy without any harm to the people and environment.
If anyone did suicide on the particular day so no need to avoid for celebrating valentine day. no one telling to do suicide if love fails or success. If anyone died on the day of his sister or brothers marriage day so the reason their marriage? It is decided when his birth time. may his soul RIP.

@Rakesh Shetty: please note that he died because his love didn't accept his love. Even if it was not valentines day the girl would have said a no to this emotional fool boy. So i don't think it has anything to do with Valentines day. Please stop using English as a medium of communication if you really this western culture is bad.People like you are the reason for India's backwardness.
