Mangalore, Dec 5: A star in the making, Shweta Pandit who hails from Karkala is all set for her upcoming Tamil movie ‘Veru’.

Three films old, Shweta has already proved her talent in 'Paramatma', a Kannada romantic-comedy directed by Yograj, starring Puneeth Rajkumar and Deepa Sannidhi in the lead. The story of 'Paramatma' revolves around a multi-faced young boy, who accidently falls for a girl and find his love in her. The movie runs on a flashback mode.

Shweta has also played the lead role in the Telugu movie ‘Theatre Lo’ which is a horror film with suspense as the main crux. The story revolves around the happenings at a movie theatre over two hours.

"'Theatre Lo' is a good movie, where I am playing the lead role with four other male leads," said Shweta speaking exclusively to Daijiworld. Four actors - Srikanth, Dheeraj, Shankar and Varun - are cast opposite Shweta.

Shwetha also has in her kitty the Kannada Kannada movie 'Case No 18/9', a remake of Tamil film ‘Vazhakku Enn 18/9’ which is based on a teenage scandal. Shweta and Sindu Lokanath are the heroines while Niranjan Shetty is the hero.

Since childhood, Shweta Pandit has had immense attachment towards Mangalore. She was brought up by her grandfather (a priest at Venkataramana Temple) and grandmother in Karkala. For the past 3 years, she has settled in Bangalore and from a year and a half she has taken up modeling assignments.

When Daijiworld asked her about some of her happiest moment in Kannada industry, she said that it was the time she spent with Appu (Puneeth Rajkumar) during a film shoot. "Appu is a fun loving and a down to earth person", she said.

Speaking about her film career, she says, "Instead of taking everything coming my way, I am trying to be selective and work with a good script and director. As of now, I am quite satisfied doing this."

"Having done a role in ‘Paramatma’, I am happy to secure a place amidst Sandalwood actors," she added.

Commenting on the importance of social media, Shweta said that she is closely connected to social networking sites through which she got to know many people, and which helped her in getting ahead in her film career.

"I have no particular targets as such, but I will definately continue to pursue my dreams," she said, when asked about her future plans.

We surely hope this young talent has all her dreams coming true.

To Oliver from Mangalore - I'm sure she's a good actress and she IS pretty good looking too. An actors acting ability depends on how he / she is directed. Unless they are "one take artists" or otherwise stalwarts in the industry.
Nothing earth shattering u say? Now, tell me who among our actors is earth shatteringly beautiful or dead gorgeous? good looks and beauty are relative!

Its great that she has worked in a bunch of good movies. She's probably a good actress, because looks wise I don't really see anything special. certainly nothing earth shattering

@ Jossey Saldhana , Mangalore , Mapuca , Mumbai. Aa age old proverb says..... man is messured by wallet and women by looks. I cannot say its true in HDK case ( may be he is good orater) , but peaple are damn jealous of him ( second wife ). I appreciate his guts , most of peaple want best things in life it but scared of society , but this guy is of iron , i must say.....

Puneet Rajkumar is not good by look. But he is one of the best actors in India. Similarly Shwetha can be !!

Same is not true in case of Shivarajkumar :-)
I accept Ambarish as hero in romance movies, but not Shivarajkumar.

when sharrukh khan can become a Hero .?and become a (King khan?), shweta you are far ahead . god bless ! you are more beautiful than rani mukherji ( i had seen her during at airport chalte-chalte shooting) who opened my eyes that what we see in the movies in unreal ...its just 18-20 reel film to take viewer mind to imaginary films.

Mr.Afridi D'souza..There is nothing big difference between your comment and Afridi's batting..Coming back to the subject, Shweta is not an extra ordinary face. But she can prove her extra ordinary talent through acting..Face is temporary,Acting is permanent..Good luck Shweta.

I have seen PARAMATMA , but SHWETA aunty no where to be found on main role . May be a supporting role nick named 'KEROSINE'. But she looks dull and bit old ( even in above pics ) as compared to beauties like Deepa sannidi and Aindrita ray .
