Dubai, Dec 5: Mogaveers UAE as every year successfully conducted the 5th annual blood donation campaign at the Global Village with Al Ameen Service (Dubai police) on Sunday December 2 from 4 pm to 8 pm. This year the campaign was dedicated to the 41st UAE National Day Celebration.

Moving one step ahead towards the ongoing 'Save Life Campaign' with the roll-up banner, this time Mogaveers UAE came out with unique promo car sticker saying ‘Join Us to Save Life’ which was released by Major General Omar Al Falazi.

Omar Al Falazi said that he was overjoyed to release such a promo car sticker and assured that Al Ameen Service would join hands with Mogaveers UAE with their ongoing Save Life Campaign. He also personally thanked all donors largely hailing from Karnataka, India and wished them good health and success.

The donors poured in great numbers from all the seven emirates of the UAE into Global Village enthusiastically for this great cause. Mogaveers UAE also promised BDC that they would try to bring all the associations hailing from Karnataka to the Blood Donors club by 2013 through the ongoing Save Life Campaign.

As many as 175 donors, including 115 from Mogaveers UAE donated blood on the day.

Dr Lila, head of BDC with her team was present on time and head of Global Village Sayid was delighted to join the campaign. BDC team, Al Ameen Service team and global village team were handed over a bouquet which represents the National Flag of UAE by Mogaveers UAE.

As per the Dubai Blood Donation Centre (DBDC), the need for blood is ongoing and must be met every day. The demand for blood is growing faster than the collection rate and DBDC has requested to have an instant response to the rapid growth in blood demand which is obviously proportionate to the fast growing population of the city along with healthcare facilities. The seasonal blood shortage obviously occurs in the holy month of Ramadan and through the summer holiday. DBDC is the only blood supplier in Dubai. Its Services extend to Thalassemia patients (Thalassemia Center at Al Wasl Hospital), road accident and burn victims (Trauma Centre at Rashid Hospital), patients with neonates and maternity health complications (Al Wasl Hospital), cases dia gnosed with cancer or scheduled for open heart operations (Dubai Hospital) as well as to all private health facilities within Dubai that are entitled for transfusion Services.

Mogaveers president L V Puthran thanked all the donors and wished them a good health Omar Al Falazi and Sayid were briefed about Mogaveers UAE and their ongoing social Service projects and about the Save Life Campaign by Vinod Kanchan and Balakrishna M Salian.
