Mumbai Branch of Palimar Math Inaugurated at Mira Road

Mumbai, Sep 18: "Religious institutions and Maths have been preserving and promoting the culture of the land; they also quench people's thirst for spiritual knowledge. Support from devotees in realizing the cultural works of the Math is also important," said All Cargo Global Logistics Limited managing director Shashikiran Shetty.
He spoke after inaugurating the Mumbai branch of Palimar Math in Geetha Nagar, Mira Road East. Udupi Palimar Math pontiff Shree Vidyadheeshateertha Swamiji was present.
On the occasion Swamiji performed aarthi to idols of Lord Shree Rama and Lord Srinivasa in the Mandir installed in the shrine. Thulabhara ritual was also performed on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Swamiji said that the younger generation falls prey to western culture easily, hence safeguarding the culture of the land is necessary. He added that people have been carried away by materialistic desires and attracting them towards spirituality is the need of the hour. He stated that the Math will be for all the Mumbaikars.
Meera Bhayandar City Corporation president Cathleen Pereira lit the lamp on the auspicious occassion. MP Dr Sanjiva Ganesh Naik was present. Naik speaking on the occasion said that priests, pontiffs and religious leaders must publicize the importance of devotion of god.
Karnataka Dharmika Parishad member Panja Bhasker Bhat in his keynote address said that the Mumbai branch of Palimar Math will be the centre of religious activities for the followers of the Math.
Krishnaraj Thantri worshipped. Borivili West MLA Gopal C Shetty, deputy mayor Noor Jahan Sayed Hussein, Kanchana Poojari, Narendra Mehta, Pramod Sawanth, Deepti Bhat, Fareed Khureshi, Ravi Vyas, CA C R Murali, Prakash Acharya Ramakunja, Kallaje Radhakrishna Bhat, Dr Raviraj Suvarna, Bellipady Santhosh Rai, among others were present.
