Dubai, Sep 2 (Emirates 24X7) : The research and investigation wing of Dubai General Department for Residency and Foreigners Affairs has arrested several illegal residents.
In an early morning ambush in Khawaneej area, officials arrested at least 39 Asians. Most of them have entered the country illegally after being deported and have been working illegally under different sponsors.
The officials waited the whole night and raided their residences simultaneously at 4am, when the men were caught unawares and had no means of escape.
Major-General Mohammed Al Marri, Director of the Department, praised the meticulous planning of the search and investigating team that successfully nabbed the violators of law.
Khalaf Al Ghaith, Assistant Director of the Department, said the campaign was planned following several complaints received from residents against these men.
