Kundapur: Miscreants Go on Rampage at Kandlur Government School

Kundapur: Miscreants Go on Rampage at Kandlur Government School

Silvester D'Souza
Daijiworld Media Network - Kundapur

Kundapur, Aug 23: In a bizarre incident, a group of unidentified miscreants barged into Kandlur Government Higher Primary School at around midnight on Wednesday August 22 and went on a rampage throwing things around and creating a mess.

The miscreants broke open the door of the school and threw the books and stationery belonging to the school all over the place.

The Kannada dictionary was found thrown into the toilet, and words not befitting children were written on the blackboards in the classrooms.

Bhaskar Sherigar Maarashi, who has been the president of the school for three years now, told Daijiworld that the incident took place on August 22 night and that the school management has no information about who could be behind the act.

"This is the first time such an incident is happening in this school. Last night, the gate was closed and locked, and yet the miscreants managed to enter," he said, urging the police to take stringent action against the culprits.

Speaking to Daijiworld, Laxman V S Kandlur, a former student of the school termed the incident as 'humiliating'. "The miscreants insulted Kannada, our state language and mother tongue, by throwing Kannada dictionary into the toilet. This is unacceptable," he added.

The incident is a matter of shame and a great insult, as an educational institution has been made a target, said the parent of a student.

The students had to sit under trees as classrooms were in a mess. Classes were also conducted in the open.

A case has been registered in the Kundapur police station.

There is no clue yet about the culprits or their motive. Investigations are on.

Instead of blaming the ruling government and pointing the fingers on the minority. Catch the culprits and give them beating by the students and teachers this will be the best lesson for them to learn in their life

I think you don not work anywhere.
Yes it is a very fair guess, that people like you are behind this mess they created, by throwing the Kannada
dictionary in the toilet. They do not know if it is Kannada, hindi, marathi dictionary as they are as uneducated as you are.

DEAR GERALD,
IT IS WRONG TO BLAME POLICE OR GOVERNANCE IN THIS VANDALISM.
THIS MUST BE AN AGE OLD GOVT PRIMARY SCHOOL ( EVEN I STUDIED IN ONE IN AJJARKAD, UDUPI).
THESE SACRED PLACES WHERE DEDICATED TEACHERS TOIL TO TEACH NOT SO RESOURCEFUL CHILDREN ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO NIGHT TIME ACTIVITIES OF GROUP DRINKING TILL A TIME, THEN MAY BE IMMORAL TRAFFIC AFTER, THEN AMY BE EVEN MURDER OR SUICIDE.
THESE ARE HOLY PLACES BUT LAMP IS THE DARKEST UNDER ITS OWN LOCATION.
MAY GOD BLESS THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE ATROCITIES AND BRING BACK THEM TO MAIN STREAM SOCIETY.
I AM SURE THEY ARE DESPERATE & DISAPPOINTED YOUTH IN THEIR PRIME AGE.

Very unfortunate incident. How could they insult the language of the State? It would be interesting to know who the culprits are and what was their intention.

Actual problem is current law..must be amended with larger punishment like below ..than just jail!!
Cut fingers, cut hands, cut legs, making visible scar on face of criminal so that others refrain their connection!! No fear … for law is the reason for this sort activity in India!! Wish this come to effect!!!

In Kannada medium school you find English words "I LOVE YOU" on the board, may be celebrating rave party wrong information given to miscreants to carryout antisocial activities.

Looks like a 'I Love You' case, but the explanations differ. How can a'Jhor ka jatka- deere sa Lage' case insult Kannada? Is it their property? Better treat it
as a 60-90 case and start investigations...
